I would rather have a no-name professional do the lines than a "video game celebrity" cameo who has no experience in voice acting.
She's voiced by a celebrity? I do not recognize her at all.
She's not an
actual celebrity, hence the quotes, but that seems to be how she is often regarded in the video game journalism community. At the very least, she's more widely known than other journalists. She's a reporter for IGN and probably most famous for licking a PSP. Got a wiki page and everything.

I kept
getting pissed off at Vega for calling me Lola and saying crap like how I
can "fill out an outfit like nobody's business". Uh, excuse me? Screw
you, guy, I am your superior officer. You do not talk to me like
that. I didn't ask nor do I want your creepy, weird comments. A soldier
should know better in the first place. What the hell?
I played
pure Paragon. I'm only assuming that if you can shoot these behaviors
down you can only do so if you're Renegade. Which is a bit
disappointing. I guess if I ever get around to a second play though I
know who's getting a talking-to first.
I play (mostly)
pure Paragon also. But I did take the renegade option with Vega at the
beginning when he calls Shepard "Lola." She says something to him like,
"I'm your superior officer; no nicknames." Something to that effect.
Vega responds in a very snarky tone, "Your rules, your loss, COMMANDER."
I lost all respect for Vega after that.
Ugh. Why? Why can he say this and get away with it?
I didn't ever take him out on any missions after Mars because he was an ass to my Paragon Shepard and now I see that there wasn't any real loss by doing Renegade, either. Does anyone know how he reacts if you're
like, yeah, no, you are terrible, don't become an N7, seriously, you are not cut out for it. 'Cause I really wanted to say that.
