He gave me my options... and as soon as I was back in control, I immediatly tried to make a fourth choice. I turned towards him, raised my pistol, and let him have it. Unfortunantely this had no effect... so now I'm praying that it was indeed just a hallucination caused by loss of blood.
So the first time that glowing kid showed up at the end....

hallucination is the only way to go! The only possible way to explain how Shepard is alive back on Earth in the ending is that the endings never happened, and Shepard is just waking up after getting blasted by Harbinger

The kid is a reaper trying to convince sheperd into making the wrong choice(s).
Harbinger used the same method in ME2's arrival DLC.
