I wholeheartedly agree with this Too bad I'll never see it in any of my playthroughs... Oh well. Hearing that is NEVER worth that ending, omg

It's this and letting the geth (or quarians) wipe each other out which I found the most evil options you can take in the game.

The kicker?
The piece of music that plays in this scene is on the Soundtrack. It's called "Betrayal"...
Even the Digital Soundtrack's calling out Renegades for that!

Actually think about it for a second beyond the Scientists death.

The Krogan are going to obviously celebrate. And they'll find out they've been lied too. What makes you think they won't... rebel again? They'll hate the Salarians and Turians even more than they ever did.

the down side to big choices in games like these is that their comes a point where your just being evil to be evil

Throw the humans in there too. In my own game though, the practical considerations don't even enter into it. I could never betray Wrex.

I couldn't even bring myself to watch that! Mordin's death hit me so hard, and if I wasn't certain on actually curing the genophage before... I was certainly was then. Betraying one friend (and his entire species) is bad enough... but then to watch another die in vain?

Ugh. Not just renegade, but evil. This outweighs the renegade ending of Overlord by a ton.

Well think about it, they said 24 was one of their inspirations for writing Shepard. Jack Bauer had to shoot one of his friends to get the job done, Shepard has a chance to do it as well. It is a sad scene though, but whoever was playing must have felt that curing the genophage would be a bad mistake.
