To view the problem another way, there are more NPC men that are guaranteed possibilities for male Shepards to hook up with (Cortez) than female ones (nobody). On top of that, even if Kaidan and Garrus are both available, there are still more female options than male ones for FemShep.
I don't blame the writers for creating more love interest options in total for male Shepards. It wasn't like that in the first two, but I think I read somewhere that 80% of players make a guy character, so there is logic in it. Plus, whether by design or not, it's led to a significant number of women in the ME universe doing critical work, which is a very good thing. But those of us who have invested two games worth of time into our characters should reasonably be able to expect that they can continue as they have been, at least in a general sense, through the third. I've never perceived my Shepard as being a lesbian- she ended up with Liara in ME1 mainly because I thought Kaidan was a tool- but if she had gone in some non-Garrus direction in ME2, she wouldn't have any other option (besides abject loneliness). I'd go so far as to say that's not fair to the character Bioware has spent so many years developing on this story arc.
I don't know what good complaints like this might do. I guess I'd just say, reply if you agree with this, and maybe it'll catch someone's eye.
