what do u mean access other armies ?
each stage in the city whiile u try take denerim back.. will let u use 1 army.
u cant deploy more as 1 army in a area.... and u can use 1 army at battle with archdemon. in castle is just ur party

Let me errata my statement:
For most of Denerim, there should be an "army picker" in the right of the screen. You can call in your amassed troops by clicking on it. You only get one army per area, and once its called in, it will start taking losses. You can call in one army across multiple areas, however.
Once you fight through most of the city, you'll enter Ft. Drakon itself, and you're on your own until the archdemon fight, when you can call them in again.

I clicked the army selector on many occasions (not in the Drakon interior), but nothing appeared. Was I missing something?

They don't come all at once. After clicking, 2-3 guys come out from a end of the screen and start to assist (they need about 10s to come to the fight). Then, when a ally dies, another comes etc... until the count goes to 0.

Imagine if he'd been waiting on pause for 4 months, mental.

Thanks sajahVarel - I clicked a number of times in exterior parts and no one appeared. When I finally fought the archdemon, First Enchanter Irving and an Arl showed up, not sure if that was due to the army button or not?

It was not. They show up regardless.SMDKeef wrote...

You can summon assistance during the archedemon fight, but you can't summon a second army until the first one has been completely killed.
