It's clear by now that everyone understands why the Reapers moved the Citadel. They wanted to protect it. Wait, what? No I take that back no one understands why the **** the Reapers moved the Citadel or even how they did. The whole time I was playing the Mass Effect series, I always realized there was something fishy about the Citadel. Everyone knew this. Well we eventually learn that the Citadel is part of the Reapers plan. It's placed there in a strategically important part of the Milky Way that more or less ensures that sentient life that uses the mass relays will find it. Its' central location will thus become a central point for the galactic community as a whole. I get it. Makes sense.

What none of us understand now, given the ME3 ending, is why the hell the Reapers would move this strategically placed asset of theirs TO MOTHER ****ING EARTH? WHAT? WHY? They say "to protect it". To "prevent it from being used" with the crucible. Holy ****ing hell, just send your whole god damn fleet to assault the thing. Hell Soverign basically destroyed an enitre fleet all by himself when he assaulted the Citadel in attempt to bring all his bros to the galaxy faster. Shepard was just lucky Soverign was the dumbest Reaper in all of Reaper history and linked his dumb mind with a stupid Turian so he can be killed. Imagine a hundred much smarter Reapers taking the Citadel. It's not like they DIDN'T KNOW WHERE IT WAS, THEY ****ING PLACED IT THERE FFS. Would that NOT be the first place you assault?

Someone please help me understand better and correct my thinking if I'm wrong.

They want the Citadel preserved for the next cycle and the Crucible destroyed. The bulk of their force was in the Sol system. Naturally, they brought it where it would be safest from the Crucible.

That wasn't so difficult, was it? You just had to see two steps ahead of you. Oh, wait. No, you just had to pay attention.

That doesn't explain anything. I get what you're saying. I didn't miss it. It just doesn't make sense. Why as you say was the bulk of their force in the Sol system anyway? Why didn't they just assault the damn Citadel to begin with? Who cares about Earth. The fact that they can transport the Citadel all the way to Earth indicates that they can transport the Citadel any damn place they want. And if the whole point is to protect the Citadel from the Crucible, why go after Shepard? Just destroy the damn Crucible.

Why not just jump the Citadel outside organics normal FTL range. How did they even move that thing. Last place you would want something to protect is a battleground.

Earth was one of the first places hit by the Reapers, by the end of the game it would have been deep in Reaper territory.

Me, I would've taken it to the location of the Collector Base. Now all your attackers get to dodge black holes while trying to get to it.
