 Alright so as always you're able to map one of both of your squad member's abilities to both your left and right on the Dpad. This is generally how it always has been and normally there is no issue. Now that I've finally started the Campaign I'm noticing right out of the gate that this is an issue.

Basically I map Ashley's Marksman and James's Fortification to the left and right Dpad per usual, but when I hit the respective buttons to tell them to use said abilities it either issues them an attack command or a move command, and as such does not use the ability. Has anyone else run into this issue, and did you find a fix? I have a Kinect but I unplugged it simply because I don't wish to use it for the game, I don't think that would effect the controls though.

Any help would be great, thanks!

Edit - This issue isn't happening with direct damage abilities... just self buffs. I don't recall this issue in the previous games, but it isn't as major of an issue now. I suppose that's just how it works and I clearly am not remembering correctly.

I think I'm familiar with you're issue. In my case I found that I wasn't targeting the enemy properly. If your reticle slips off the enemy the dpad issues an advance command instead of a power use. This kept getting Liara killed at Grissom Academy on me.
