They'll prolly respond with stuff like "the game was a great success, over 3 million copies sold in the first week and the feedback from the fans has been great!" and totally ignoring the endings. >_<

They'd probably just post up raving reviews on Twitter and the mods will come by and do a sweep of the threads.

I have every reason to believe that fixing the end would ultimately do more good than not doing anything at all; because the ending was THAT damaging.

Never.

This. That was what they did with DA2 and it's what they are going to do with ME3. There is no incentive to do anything else.

DA2 ending didn't necessarily generated the [s]storm of this magnitude. And much more investment was made to ME3, both from the fans and the developers. Alot more stake is at hand than DA2 ever was.

This. Developers always defend their work (well, it's natural).
If/when ME4 or ME-MMO comes out, then they will comment on "perhaps this and that didn't go as we planned" or something.

Never. In a few years once "Mass Effecting an ending" becomes a popular gamer catch phrase someone from the Bioware team will give an interview and explain the real story behind the red/blue/green ending. It'll probably make for good reading.
