Open the file in any zip extractor. Take the folder inside the zip and place it in your Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Addins folder.  Then open the .xml in the script, copy everything from <addinitem to </addinitem>. the go to Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Settings, and open the Addins.xml file.  After <AddinList> paste everything you just copied from the mods xml file. Save. Load game, check DLC, make sure it's enabled.

On that note, if anyone on Win 7x64bit got the DAupdater working for the Steam version, let me know how you pulled that off.

I'm on neither Win7 nor 64bit, but is the service for daupdater.exe properly installed?

Wow that sounds complicated. This is what I have to do on Vista.

Take the .dazip file that you download and place it in the folder C/ProgramFiles/Dragon Age/bin_ship

Once there double click the .dazip file and the rest should be very straight forward.

It does everything perfectly fine, except write the addinitem to the addin.xml. So I just use it to unpack tihngs, wait for it to crash, and do the copy and paste bit manually. It would be nice to cut that last step out though.

Hm. From a Vista perspective, I'd ask if you're running daupdater.exe as admin, since it may be lacking write privileges to addin.xml, but what do I know? :P

Thanks for the information, guys.

It looks like the boots weren't in the cabinet in my game as I took all the stuff from it. Since I also can't go back to Lothering anymore they're probably lost forever. Plus that bloody Hermit doesn't want to talk nor fight me, so the helmet is lost forever too.

AND004's mod will spawn an object called "Give me my boots!" if you've already gone through Lothering. Use it and (surprise!) it gives you your boots.

Um, about ancient elven boots. I found some in Lothering in one of the locked chests. Pretty surprised, actually. Nothing else. Just the boots.

I take it you were playing on the Xbox 360? or at least not on the PC. Those boots are not present in the PC version for some reason.

Anyone know if the new patch added them in for the PC version?

What is people's obsession with this armor?  wade's superior drakeskin gives better armor rating and similar dex bonus, and it's LIGHT instead of medium.  And ancient elven looks pretty bad, IMO.  Except the helmet.  The helmet is pretty hot on an elf.

I love the way Ancient Elven armor looks. I used it on my DW warrior elf the whole game, swapped out for the drakeskin for dragon fights, but that's it.

Thank you for these instructions.

Apparently, the Mac version has the same bug as the PC version.

Thankfully these instructions work on the Mac as well at the PC.

I now have a complete set of Ancient Elven Armor.    :)
