Why did i never see Anderson in the Citadel: The Return?

I've gone through it twice and there is only one walkway. Yet i never see him ahead of me when he says there is a chasm. Just for fun i fired my gun a couple of times to see if he could hear me, nope.
Also where was the Illusive Man?

Bioware you have made no sense, now don't get me started on the ending!

Well, he does say he arrived on a different part of the station, and that the walls are shifting. The endings are still very poor though.

Hm. Does Anderson mention coming out near a bunch of bodies? If not, he might have just appeared out in front of the door you walk out of. Not sure why he'd show up there, but it is a possibility.

Anderson says he came in a different place, but its filled with bodies. As you walk there is only 1 way to the control room and if Anderson followed you...

Exactly, just like "There is no oxygen in space yet i'm capable of breathing" Still no explanation to how the Illusive Man got there or how my squadmates didn't die and magically appeared on the Normandy
