IF bioware wanted us to feel the magnitude of ending the reaper invasion.
If we're being honest, ending the reapers would require an enormous sacrifice. I personally didnt like the ending and hope it was just a hallucination but in reality anything less than complete destruction of the synthetics and all technology wouldnt be realistic since it was all intertwined with the reapers.
And the way the ending struck as a major gut punch simulates the amount of grief that everyine else would feel. Yes it sucks but I think that the ending was purposely trying to make you feel the sadness and helplessness that something like this would feel like.
I personally hope it was all just a hallucination. But realistically the endings are probably what would have to happen in order to end such a massive force like the reapers.
Just my thoughts..
The ending makes sense IF...

The problem I have is that after a series that prides it self on having multiple choices, rich history, and deep characters, the end throws it all in the trash bin and says "space magic for everyone".
Why couldn't the crucible just be the weapon we thought it was? Why did it have to get weird? The game already gave us tons of sacrifice: Anderson, the two squad members on earth, Mordin, Legion, Thane...why do we need to destroy the galaxy?
Also, I thought that maybe the end was designed to make us feel like we just fought a war, but if that's the case, than they sacrificed a good story, and three amazing games to make an artistic statement. And that's not ok.
