The question is....why is that so?
This policy is completely unheard of. It alienates a big part of the fanbase for unstated (and perhaps shadowy) reasons.
I, for example, cannot post on the forums as I share my computer with a mate and we bought the game on his account. Is my opinion worthless to Bioware?
Are you just trying to do damage control by dampening the backlash?
Fans posting spoilers here is a direct consequence of Bioware's own unjustified policy, and will continue to happen unless this changes.
STOP posting Spoilers in here. This is as annoying as it gets. You are ruining the game for everyone else

How about game owners who don't want to link their forum account to their Origin account? How about people who didn't buy the game because of elements that can't be discussed without spoilers? It would be easier for them to just set up a spoiler section for non-registrants - there's basically no downside, and it would fix the issues with this forum section.

The Mass Effect 3 General Discussion (No ME3 Spoilers allowed) is clearly marked as No ME 3 Spoilers allowed, what is so difficult to understand about that?
And yes, I do understand that some folks are having issues with registering their games and support for that is available as Social.bioware.com Site Help

I don't think many are going to own the game for long anyway. Expect a loud, collective disc-snapping.

the problem is that there is no similar subforum or thread where spoilers are allowed, then no one would have to post everything into the same spot, not to mention those who don't want to read spoilers shouldn't even visit a game forum so soon after release

Many people visit the forums "so soon after release" because when they're at work they can't play the game but they can still talk about it. People also may want to get some general opinions of the game that DON'T include spoilers before they play.joriandrake wrote...

And that's why I called you an elitist. Who the hell do you think you are that you believe your opinion is worth more than mine?
Notice: if there was no lockdown on spoiler forums at all, there would be no need to post spoilers anywhere else.
Second of all, I do not come here to PURPOSEFULLY spoil the game for everyone else, I discuss the issues with the story where appropriate and if you are naive enough to walk into a spoiler thread and believe you will be safe from spoilers, that's your own problem.

There are no spoiler tags on threads in this forum and certainly aren't any spoiler tags for the one-off comments in any number of threads here. It has nothing to do with whose opinions are worth more; it has everything to do with a basic level of consideration for other people. You can't follow the rules and you're negatively effecting the community so you don't deserve to post here. Simple.SolidBeast wrote...

No, it has everything to do with it. Your suggestion is not letting ANYONE without the game / without it being registered post about it or discuss it. People WILL know about the endings, as said here, youtube? Reading the spoiler forums? Anyone can do that. People that don't want to get the game DUE to the endings. They are not allowed to discuss them anywhere? That's pure BS.
I put spoiler warnings in my posts.
To quote Draemien, "people posting spoilers here is a direct consequence of BioWare's own unjustified policy."
And we STILL have no justifiable reason or answer as to the benefit of parts of the forum being restricted to us.

I have bought ME1, I have bought ME2, I have bought ME3 with a friend that I share my computer with.
Is it logical to prohibit me from posting on the forums? More importantly, is it fair? Is it ethical?

General game discussion (no spoilers allowed) is OBVIOUSLY where people are going to default for those purposes. It's not their fault that's the only forum you can troll.joriandrake wrote...
