It's important to know when semantics matter and when they're just a strawman. What you're doing is a fairly common internet discussion tactic; ignore the content of the discussion and create an unrelated semantics argument around a single word.Il Divo wrote...

Considering language is the basis for any form of conversation or argumentation, yes. You're not calling him inconsiderate. You're essentially calling him a sadist. If you don't care about your own words, why should anyone
else?
Friendly advice, don't make a weak diversionary tactic like that the entirety of your response.

Apparently, Miss Moonsong, you missed the part where some of us said that we are unable to register our copies of Mass Effect 3, thus, preventing us from posting in the spoiler section. We do not want to spoil, but you don't offer any other solutions.
We've been locked out of a party we have invites to. So, we are throwing our own party in this section.
Apparently, peopple are having issues with reading comprehension:
The Mass Effect 3 General Discussion (No ME3 Spoilers allowed) is clearly marked as No ME 3 Spoilers allowed, what is so difficult to understand about that?
And yes, I do understand that some folks are having issues with registering their games and support for that is available as Social.bioware.com Site Help
Why am I not surprised at this post?
This kind of 'support' is what I ran into when trying to get Bioware support to unlock my ToR account. Ignore the issue, copy/paste a company line.
I have no doubt Selene is only doing her/his job as specified by the rules they are given, but EA needs to add flexibility to their support if they don't want to run the risk of plain out alienating/driving-away their own customers.
I know it drove me personally away from ToR already when this kind of 'support' was the only one being received.

General game discussion (no spoilers allowed) is OBVIOUSLY where people are going to default for those purposes. It's not their fault that's the only forum you can troll.
Like I said, Bioware dropped the ball by allowing you trolls post anywhere without being registered.
What are you, the Champion of the Unspoiled? Stop. It's nobody's desire to spoil the game for others, but we have no alternatives. And we are not going to leave the forums/not talk about our experience with the game just because we are locked out of the appropriate area.
Get off of the BSN if you don't want to get spoiled. It's chaos.
Actually, I would call him a troll, as his only reason for posting in this thread seems to be to try and spark conflict.

What they are depends entirely on their intent, which is something that can't be determined and precisely why arguing the semantics of their label is a pointless diversion. I wouldn't put it past these people to be be spoiling things intentionally out of general anger towards the game and their registration woes. In that sense I have little problem with my characterizing them as trolls.Il Divo wrote...

Excluding of course that by characterizing as trolls merely due to lack of knowledge regarding intent, you open yourself up to accusations of being a troll. Argument from ignorance is logic 101. Shall I report you now?

@Selene Moonsong - mind explaining what purpose this forum lockdown serves? Because it's obviously not to stop trolling / make the forums more civil. I'm genuinely interested in an answer, because no one has been able to provide me with a good one so far.
It has nothing to do with trolling, but as an additional priviledge for those who have registered a game and wish to discuss the game with other registered users of the same game without interference from unregistered users.
This is not a new practice, and has been a policy since the days of the original BioBoards forums. While this does not keep regestered community members from trolling, it does tend to keep a lot of the drive-by spammers and trolls out of the registered game only forum topics.
The logical way to accompany this policy would be to include a spoiler forum for non-registrants as well as a non-spoiler forum. This won't affect the registrants who wish to discuss the game with other registrants, and it will go a long way towards helping people (including registrants) who wish to discuss the game and remain unspoiled, considering that as far as I can see this is the only non-spoiler sub-forum.
Selene Moonsong wrote...
Also, I seriously doubt that BioWare will create a forum for the sole purpose of unregistered game user accounts being allowed to have their own spoiler forum as some have suggested, it doesn't even make sense to do so.
Why not? I can name three groups of people off the top of my head that might be in the target audience for a spoiler/non-registrant forum.
1) People who have bought the game and are unwilling or unable to register it with their forum account, but who wish to discuss it without worrying about spoiling fellow forumites.
2) People who have not yet bought the game, intend to do so in the future, don't care about spoilers, and wish to discuss spoiler topics without spoiling fellow forumites.
3) People who have not bought the game, have heard rumors about spoiler-related topics (like the endings) that might sway their decision to purchase the game, and who have questions about these topics.
The new sub-forum would be easy to implement, and it would help a lot of people - not least the people who want an authentically non-spoiler forum to discuss the game in.
