Hey all,

Due to the lack of "repeatable quests", I find myself saving every single copper till the very end. I didn't dare to spend much because I was worried I would not have enough money for important things later, like consumables.

I didn't enjoy this kind of play style in my first character's game, so for my 2nd character, I want to know whether there are legit ways to earn money outside of one-time-only quests and encounters.

In other words, if by some chance I spend all my gold wrongly, am nearly broke near the end of the game, having completed all side quests, what can I do to earn gold?

You don't. There is roughly 800 gold coins worth of cash in this game, give or take based on how you do certain quests, which items you sell or use or store, and your luck with items in chests (armors sell for a lot of cash).

Basically, aim yourself to spend however much gold you are spending on tomes, crafting components, recipes, runes. You should have enough gold left over to buy 3-4 uber items.

There is a "legit" way to make money I read about; it was either on this board or on Gamefaqs. It involves selling creating and selling potent lyrium poultices for a profit. It's almost definitely unintended by the devs, but it isn't as if you are using the console to give yourself gold, so I'm not sure if you could call it cheating, either.

Who knows, maybe it's really intended by the developer :)

After all, working with lyrium is dangerous; and it's quite rare to find someone who can expertly work it into potions. So, it makes sense if you can make a little extra with your skill.

I think I accumulated about 250g in my entire first playthrough. This was attained mostly by equipping party members with the best of whatever I already had, keeping one or two types for possible future use, and selling the rest. I also enjoy selling Ice and Fire Arrows, as they sold for about 1g (which was a fair bit at the time) for the quiver of 20, I think. Other than that, under Orzammar some of that Legion armor pieces can be sold for =< 3g, and some poisons for weapons and such can be found easily and sold for about 30-70 silvers a piece. I consider those good sales anyway, :P. But now that I'm a Dalish in my second playthrough, I keep my Ice and Fire arrows and may use toxins to poison arrows as well, so I'm expecting to attain less gold this time around.
