Even if I were to purchase Xbox Gold my Galactic Readiness will drop for each day I am not able to play. For those asking, No I can't spare an extra hour to multiplayer everyday. Some of us have jobs & families to take care of. That's the reason I prefer Single Player games. I can pick them up and play when I want to. Basically Bioware gave me home work. Complete this everyday or get punished
Impossible to get enough EMS without multiplayer - No spoilers

Or they indeed lied..
Although this problem is very easy to fix with patch (that should be coming soon, for there are too much bugs right now)

In their sticky they probably meant the the third option at the end as the best ending, since it requires over 3000 EMS. So, you can get in single player, with an effort.

Maybe what the Mod ment when he said "best ending" was the ending that he personally likes the most <_<

I don't mean to keep sounding negative, because honestly I loved the game minus a few certain minutes. But I'm not sure why they thought several things would be a good idea. The multiplayer thing being the second most egregious example. The PLC wrote...

maybe you can solo bronze. I can't. I cannot play Mass Effect 2 or 3 even on casual without excessive use of pause button. you don't get to pause in multiplayer. after getting my demo mp adept to lvl 12, I was able to solo a single wave. that's it.
I'm not the only one. now, I like the gameplay. its one of the few things about ME3 that I have zero issues with, especialy since pausing allows me to take my time to line up shots and abilities. however. I don't have reflexes of a professional gamer. I'm not the only one.

Try infiltrator, cloak will make it quite easy.

Same for me. I actually really love the game even though the endings are bad. I just don't know why they made it to where MP has that much of an impact.

There is a few things that I'm not sure how they got through as good ideas.
Fortunately there is so much in Mass Effect 3 that is good to awesome - but ultimately ME3 is leaving a sour taste in lots of peoples mouths for things like this and pretty much anything that has any direct connection to the endings.

That's with MP pushed to 95% readiness.
With no MP it's barely 2.5k. Not too confident on that. My friend who is playing alongside me on his own console is at a similar point, no MP, a mere 2324 EMS and I don't see it shifting much with the minor additions pre-rannoch.
So yeah, I don't mind MP, I've played it (i had to), but I don't agree with this EMS crap. Give people a method to raise it through SP. -sigh-

I need to play multiplayer to get the perfect ending? I can't believe it!
With every new game, Bioware, you disappoint me more and more. DA2 felt like an insult to Origins. Now ME3, that, again, ignores PC players imposing console limitations and the EA digital store. And now this? I have the ME3 copy unboxed, and I'm already wondering if I have done well trusting that you would do better things after DA2.
I really hope that you fix this multiplayer imposition with a new patch.

I'm very confused with this. I'm waiting to play ME3 until they patch the face issue (hoping they give us a holstering button to PC players; yeah, very unlikely, I know). But this thing with the endings bothers me.
I need to play multiplayer to get the perfect ending? I can't believe it!I never liked multiplayer games; in fact, I loved Bioware games because, with some exceptions, they almost did not pay attention to multiplayers and focused on great single-player campaigns. Why I have to spend time playing multi to get anything for the campaign?

infiltrator is the class I find to be hardest to play right after soldier. cloak is nice and all, but when you have issue with lining up shots without pausing, I don't think a class that relies on use of sniper rifle and headshots is a good suggestion for someone like me, sorry.
soloing multiplayer is no more of a good solution then editing coalesced to make resources value higher then default is. multiplayer was supposed to have been completely optional. this is what we were repeatedly told by bioware.

It's fairly ...disappointing. Has anyone seen a 5000+ in single player alone? (so 10k with 50% readiness)

You don't have to use a sinper, you could use an AR or a shotgun. But I can see you are not interested so i'll stop pouring advice down your throat sorry.

5000 effective war assets in SP is not possible at this stage.
It may be possible with future DLC however.
That said - I also don't think its needed. Saw the 'best' ending with war assets just over 7000 giving effective value around 3500 or something.

If you need to increase your readiness rating be sure that there will be a bunch people still playing ME3 who need to increase it as well.
Heck you even have people playing ME3 just for the multiplayer part.

I'm not interested, becasue I have tried it all. I got early acess to MP demo, but my friends didn't have a chance to play it with me, so I ended up experimenting with different classes and options, on my own. and like I said. this shoudln't be a requirement.

you coudln't have seen the "best" ending with these assets. the extra cutscene for the best ending, requires 4000 (or 5000 if you didn't fulfill a certain "spoiler" requirement)

I'm in the same boat, I think I've maybe missed one sidequest, but did everything else, and scanned every bloody planet. Then read what Jarret says in the sticky:
You can maximize your EMS just by collecting War Assets in the single-player game. There is a certain threshhold of these you would need to exceed (I can't get too specific) but I can tell you there are MORE than the required amount that can be gathered in the single-player campaign.
If there's more, BioWare, please tell me because 5000 seems to be the EMS we need to get the 'best' ending. It's impossible to gather these points.

I don't think its 4000 or 5000 effective war assets required - just 4000 or 5000 actual war assets. The readiness was definitely at 50% and the total was a little over 7000. Effective number was around 3500 - and yes, fulfilled the spoiler bit too.
Important to note that although it may only be cosmetic - the green bar was maxed out despite only being effectve 3500.
