Your war assets don't carry over.

What is the total EMS you need in order for the best possible outcome? I did just about about everything and my TMS/EMS were about as high as you can get them without multiplayer. Any significant differences?

From what we know, you need 4,000 or more if you can make the persuasion check at the end (and choose to do so); otherwise, you need 5,000.

Can anyone confirm if this is real or fake?

That image is obviously the end-result of modified game files.

So, just to clear this up, I played my first run without touching multiplayer and had the "perfect" ending. But I was playing a Paragon shepard.
I guess, if you've suffered losses in ME2 and you're playing renegade, you might have some problems.

But the multiplayer mode is way better than I expected. It's actually a lot of fun and it took me maybe 6 hours to get the Galactic readyness to 100%. Just check it out, you'll be positively surprised.

Please provide visual documentation of attaining a Total Military Strength in excess of 8000.

Please explain why your assessment of the multiplayer feature being "a lot of fun" justifies dishonesty from the game developers.

They can rebalance the assets by 60-65% or 58-64% if you perfer,it's just easier to raise the readiness.
1580 Krogan assets...on a steam cloud...you really don't have to ask if it's fake/edited.

This is so infuriating... I have zero desire to play MP and have been killing myself trying to get to the 4k WA b/c I fell short on my first game. I've even resorted to replaying it to find WA I may have missed through my first run and still I can only get approx 3600.

It's complete cr*p that there are "more war assets than are needed."

I'm at the point where I'm ready for Point of no Return and just going to sit there until a solution to this monumental BS is addressed in some form.

That's it BioWare, your credibility is zilch.

An unofficial solution, in the form of save file editing, is already available.

Thanks will look into it. This is good news for my PC Sheps but not so much for my PS3 Sheps :(

I've figured it out guys.

You know how so many people are having a really, really hard time distinguishing between TMS and EMS and what's required for the best ending?

Well bioware happens to be some of those people. They *thought* it was more than possible, but they were actually looking at TMS, just like everyone else.

Haha, this actually made me smile :)

Thanks for that.

Nope. It was the first thing I checked after finishing the game.

BTW: FTW: Eezo core is in game files known as GAWAsset_ElementZeroCore. Currently wasn't able to dig out any descriptions for any GAW assets. New version for TLK files need apparently.

Correct, both the "Element Zero Core" and the "Cerberus Flotilla" are impossible to get in-game.

The Cerberus Flotilla seems half-removed from the game.  Only the picture and placement within the "Ex-Cerberus" category exist in the game files.  No description.

Now the Element Zero Core exists in its entirety in the game files and can be added using gibbed's save editor.  In the game, it is called "Element Zero Cache" I'll post the following description:

"The blueprints for the Prothean device found on Mars calls for remarkable quantities of Element Zero throughout its structure, even its circuitry.  A precious commodity at the best of times, the Alliance and its allies are annexing all sources of Eezo the Reapers haven't cut off.  The cache liberated from Omega is a welcome boost to their resources"

So it seems as if the Element Zero Core is a leftover from the cut Omega content that was suppose to be in Mass Effect 3.  Judging by the description, it is unattainable without modding/save editing.

Well, I'm sure most of you are aware that Gibbed's Mass Effect 3 Save Editor has been released - but after doing a bit of scouting around I've uncovered a version of the editor that supports XBox360 saves.

Get the XBox360 version of the Mass Effect 3 Save Editor here :)

Unfortunately, I don't think this sort of thing is ever going to be possible for the PS3 version - which is kind of sad since they don't have access to the first game which means they have more need for an editor like this than everyone else does...

Still, that editor should allow those of you without XBox Live access a chance to tinker around and see what you can find. This does of course mean that there's always an option to see all the content, and that MP doesn't really block anything out of the game for the single-player, which is per Bioware's original statement. If folks can't eventually come out with a 'detailed plan of action' for going through all three games to maximise assets to the point you can get the 'best' ending without multiplayer, you have this method even though it's far from perfect.

What I don't get, since they do love DLC so much, why didn't they make the multiplayer one? Don't install the MP and only play SP your readiness could be 100%, Instal it and it goes down to 50% and you can raise it by playing MP.

You gain 3% of galactic readiness for every won match, that's 17 matches to go from 50% to 100%. It's about 4 hours of Bronze runs, then you just need to run one match every day to keep it at 100%, are you telling me that you can't spread 17 matches during your whole SP campaign?!

What?!

No I can't spread any amount of matches over my single player campaign. Let's say I was even remotely interested in getting on any internet server with a bunch of kids with no jobs who can spend 16 hours a day doing deathmatches and making troll faces because they're better than other people on the game. I couldn't even get past the first barrier in the multiplayer demo. I don't feel like I should have to be some kind of PvP goddess or some type of co-op dynamo or else have single player endings eliminated from my game no matter what else I do.

I would have thought this type of bait and switch would be impossible to defend. Guess I'm not done learning.

This should be all over the news sites instead of how bad the endings are.

Yep, plus it probably does fuel the "bad ending" tantrum. Considering how many players did not fully understand the TWA/EMS ratio, how many players who do not like the "bleak" ending they saw are persuaded to have seen the best ending there is to see.

My EMS bar was filled only playing the single player campaign (hell, I had a full bar before I completed all missions). I only did 100% Galactic Readiness in multiplayer just to be sure, but I don't think I needed it. Also, you get 3% readiness even if you fail in multiplayer I think.

The bar can fill but it's not enough.

It doesn't matter how much it takes because:

They said it wouldn't take any. They lied.
Some people have it on the 360 and have XBL silver and can't even play,it comes with a 2 day trial but that's not very good when you've got more than one character. Some people on the PS3 don't have an available internet connection or possibly time. Some just don't want to deal with the extreme unpleasantness of online play or tried the demo and know it's terrible.

Yeah there are a total of four <turian quoting>different<turian quoting> endings that players who solely play single player won't reach due to the highest possible I think hitting around 3800 when you need about 4000.

To avoid confusion, also be aware that GAWAsset_GeneralSherman (ID 137) is called "Allied Reinforcements" in-game.

That's an external asset not to be found in the SP campaign.

Well, my EMS is currently at 3376, and while I'm sure I've missed some assets, I don't think I've missed anywhere near enough to make up the difference to 4000. I'm now at a point in a game where I'm led to believe my next move will be a point of no return, and I don't expect many assets to become available after this... though I'd love to be proven wrong.

If it is indeed possible to achieve 4000 ems without playing any multiplayer, it must mean that you have to scour every inch of every system, and complete every side quest, and make all the best decisions in major quests. The sticky thread on the relationship between multiplayer and the endings in the single player campaign promisses that there are "more than enough" assets in the game to allow for the best ending, but frankly, I'm starting to have my doubts about that.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the game but I INTENSELY dislike this sort of tie-in of multiplayer with the single player campaign - I hope bioware never does this again with any future game, and I hope that they'll release a patch that either increases the default readiness rating, or better yet, gives us a way to increase it in the single player campaign.

It's not possible. A lot of people, myself included, have scoured every inch of the list found in the Coalesced and the best combination still falls short of 4,000 (in my case, by 480 assets).

So, the official stickied post is a bold-faced lie? Or is Jarett Lee simply misinformed himself?

In any case, I wonder if there's some way to edit some file to raise the readiness rating? I'm not going to play multiplayer for two reasons: I don't care for multiplayer, and I feel that Bioware are trying to coerce me into playing multiplayer. I don't respond well to coersion. If that costs me the best outcome in the single player campaign, then that really, really sucks, but I'll live with it. Bioware has recently been making it very hard to be a fan of the company.
