Just also agreeing that it seems impossible to get to 4000 EMS without multiplayer. I just finished my first playthrough with my Paragon shep from ME1+2, and came to a total of about 3600. I know I gave up some war assets by telling the Salarians to go to hell (Wrex is my buddy, wasn't going to screw him over) but I doubt that that would add 400 EMS. I finished up every sidequest and had 100% scanning complete for all systems. I probably added a couple hours to my playtime just from multiple visits to the citadel just to make sure no new side quests appeared :)

I suppose it's possible to just barely hit 4000 if you pick the exact right renegade/paragon options in every situation, but that seems near impossible, and would conflict with the bioware post that says there are more than enough assets in SP, which implies that there would be some leeway to miss a few here and there.

My take is that that the Bioware post only means that there's enough assets in single player to enable selection of all 3 final options, but not necessarily enough to see the 'hidden' scenes. Which pisses me off; I stopped paying for xbox live Gold because I wasn't using it at all, and don't want to have to play MP just to get the better endings.

You know, after more than 40 pages of civil discussion; clearly showing that there’s not enough War Assets to reach the complete ending. Someone at Bioware would have at least acknowledged the problem….

I can see where it might be possible if you had a very specific ME1/2 import, but barring that, I agree. It's definitely not possible for every ME3 game.

It's really a simple fix. Make default galactic readiness 100%, and up it to 150% if you play multiplayer.

A readiness of 70% would be more than enough to reach the 'magic' number of GES.

I really would have expected at least the sticky to updated with 'we are looking into this'. Come on Bioware the endings might not be all that we hoped but you did explicitly promise we could see them all without MP.

Allright, I finished my playtrough today with an very Paragon ME1/ME2 imported shepard.

I played with the Prima game Guide, so I got all sidequests and N7 mission (all quests involving overhearing people at the citadel)

I also scanned all systems.

I managed to get the 2 different alliances going between 4 differnet races.

My final TMS was 6865
so my EMS ended up at half of that.

Wanted to end with the best ending, so I had to do multiplayer.

Thats just wrong....
A series that started as singleplayer only, for two games, comes to this?
I feel sorry for people on xbox 360 that dont have Live (If they need it to play multiplayer), I played on PC.

XBox 360 players have the option of modifying save files.  Playstation 3 players do not.

Odd... I know I have made mistakes and I didnt follow any guide. My final TMS is over 7000 because I think I have 3500-3600 EMS. No Multiplayer...

I dont know much about this subject, but they can change the EMS value to their liking? With a save editor

yeah, it is. Cause I cant think of anything big that would add to my TMS to get a much higher number. I got all races onboard.
I should also add that everyone survived from ME1 and ME2 except those you couldnt save

I had tons of people from the other games showing up giving me warassets.

Individual strength values for obtained War Assets are stored within the save files.  Adjusting these scores allows inflation of the Total Military Strength, which itself inflates the post-adjustment Effective Military Strength.

I think it would be enough 75%.

7.000 TMS point in a completist playtrough can be achieved.
(7.000 x 75%) = 5250 EMS.

This means that you still needed to work hard in order to get it, but at least you'd know that you can.
MP option still would give the players the opportunity to skip some minor quest givin them an alternative (instead of a mandatory) way to reach that goal.

Ok. so Xbox players can atleast see the endings without playing multiplayer. So I guess the PS3 are worse of.

But my point was, noone should have to edit a savegame or play multiplayer to see all endings in a series that is singleplayer.

I notice EMS changes after you make certain decisions, even the minor ones. Sometimes a tiny boost here sometimes a huge drop there. But it is really hard to keep track >.<

I tried to help everyone and lose quite a bit of points because resource was stretch too thin.

This time I am going to pay very close attention to the updates in my War Asset entry..

Imo, PS3 users have it worse all the way around. They missed out on so much from ME1. No Conrad Verner, no decisions from Feros, no archives collections from ME1. With the exceptions of who lives/died on Virmire, Noveria and a couple of other major decisions, they haven't any of the minor content that provide some EMS points.

Ok, it needs to be settled once and for all - it is impossible to gather 8000 War Assets / 4000 EMS regardless of Your decisions in ME1 and ME2... There is no "perfect" path from ME1 through ME2 and ME3 to give You this many points.

I wish you luck on singing that every single page, personally I gave up after about 10 odd pages =p

:) True, the tricky thing is that ME3 gives You the feeling that You can actually achieve 4000 EMS ("I've missed some things, I'll bet if I start again and make different choices it is doable")... Sadly, You can't.

Yep, I'm in that boat as well. While I do have the PC games, my PC HD just crashed and took everything with it :crying:

I'm now left with my PS3 version and no hope of seeing my FSheps perfect end because I dislike MP with the heat of a thousands suns.

When my new HDD is installed, I can look forward to recreating all my Sheps from ME1, ugh.

You know, me too. The majority of people in this thread have been respectful and articulate. I can understand when a lot of vitriol is going on, they may not want to make a statement until things calm down. I get that. What I don't get is that this issue seems to be completely ignored.

You get the best ending after you finish new game +. No one ever said you would get the perfect ending by just completing the game once. Seriously, you really do not need multiplayer to finish the game for the best ending, you just need multiple play troughs.

Bioware made it so, that you can get the perfect ending by playing multiplayer as well, not because you need it. You are complaining about something without actually looking further into it.
