PAX is 2 days away. I'd say wait 2 more days before writing BioWare off completely.

Your EMS is not used when determining whether Anderson lives or dies. You can charm/intimidate the illusive man and stop him from killing Andersson if. 1. You use a charm/intimidate option EVERY time you talk to the illusive man (Mars, Thessia, Cronos station) and 2. if you have a high enough reputation. You can also save anderson by using the renegade interrupt though I do not know if it always appears or not.

Could do I guess. Still think any DLC likely to be mutliplayer crap not ending based. Or just wait until I get an Ipad (which I'm considering)  and do the whole iOS game to boost EMS.

Should have enough rep to save Anderson then...not that it makes one iota of difference with earth bricked and post Charon Relay exploding the solar system destroyed.

I've seen the assurance from Bioware that there are enough war assets alone to get the best ending.

I have now played two different playthroughs, one with Ashes DLC, the other without. Both Shepards were Paragon completionists from ME1 and ME2. Neither could achieve the best destroy ending, which by all accounts should take 4000 EMS.

Using the official wiki on war assets, I sat and calculated that Paragon Shepard import should have 6291 Total war assets available within the game, effectively 3145 EMS with the war readiness modifier of 50%. That is from the wiki, now assuming that it is up to date, this is disappointing. There should be enough war assets in the game for reaching 4000 EMS.

This total used Chakwas and Kaidan as war assets, and Grissom academy students in the front line.

I do not have a reliable internet connection, and do not wish to play MP or Infiltrator. I bought ME3 as a finale to a best loved RPG.

I am not pleased, as I believe the emphasis was...there are more than enough war assets. Do tell me where they are hiding, in fact tell all of us, since with our import score we are just below the magic number. Last playthrough I managed 36XX.

Anyone succeeded? Are Renegades better off?

The numbers were calculated earlier in the thread so you didn't have to do that. No matter what there's not enough.

I completed yesterday using an ME1&2 import but I only managed to get 5818 war assets, which at 50% comes to just 2909. Miles short of the 5000 I seem to need :(

I would use datapad /infiltrator, but don't have the option as I don't have an iOS device and I cant play MP as I'm not home enough to warrant paying for it. (Don't have my 360 at uni)

I sent a PM to one of the devs and he replied.
"I haven't had a chance to look into it but I'm hoping to do so in my spare time in the coming weeks."
So at least we can be sure they're aware of the problem now.

Wait for DLC. I'm sure that retaking Khar'Shan and Omega should give you the assets you need.

In the original leaked script, synthesis was considered the "best" ending. That is very doable in SP. Shep surviving could just be an easter egg for those who did play MP.

Whether they considered that the 'best' ending is by-the-by you should be able to unlock ALL endings on single player. An ananology could be buying a house with a garrage - if you don't have a car you can still use the garrage.

You can't penialise people who can't play MP for whatever reason be it they don't have an internet connection/ xbox live/ iPad.... they have paid the same price for the game so have just as much right to be able see the easter egg.

Also I'm guessing people who play SP are more likley to spend more time with 'their' shepard are more attached than MP players?

It's only a couple of extra seconds to show you made the right choice, provided you chose the right option.

SPOILER

I personally think Shepard lives anyway whether you see it or not, that high EMS just shows a scene which confirms it. Obviously you'll have less casualties with it above 4,000 at least and your squad still survive, but if the scene was longer and gave proper closure for all characters; I wouldn't be too happy about having to play Multi-player every time i wanted to see that, but 2 second footage isn't worth the effort, although it was comforting to know I picked the right choice and Shepard survived.

I'm going to do a perfect run, then play it with a NG+ at some point, missed out on Kelly Chambers and Captain Kirahae the first time and had 4012. It might be close to possible with the fish. ^^'

I am playing a Renegade run at the moment and it's not as high as it was as my Paragon play-through. Scanning all the planets in ME2 helps aswell.

*I just read the OP's post, so apologies if this was already said*

No. No you didn't. Unless you're counting editing your save. The numbers have been gone over. There's literally not enough assets to do it.

You gain 3% of galactic readiness for every won match, that's 17 matches to go from 50% to 100%. It's about 4 hours of Bronze runs, then you just need to run one match every day to keep it at 100%, are you telling me that you can't spread 17 matches during your whole SP campaign?!

Some of us can't go on xbox live like you can, so regardless of us not having time... We literally can't make it on. Hence the complaining cause for you it might be all fine and dandy but for me and others we don't got live to play on. Cheating us out of the only decent ending there is. They should've made it equal for all.

No you did not, some where along the lines you had to of played MP or you didn't get the secret ending. Its been done through perfect mathmatics, through ME1-ME3 its not possible to get the best ending by only playing campaign. If you don't believe me look up war assets on their wiki and do the additions, its out by 400 or 500.

I'm pretty certain i had 7200+ war assets. I made a few mistakes (pick the wrong side of a few disputes) ,missed kelly but I have serious doubts about these adding up to 800 WA's.

You would be right. The very most we can get on single player alone is 7515.

I just joined to post something like this. I have completed everything in the game and yet still don't have enough. I do not wish to pay for Xbox Gold and so I am punished.

Even if I were to purchase Xbox Gold my Galactic Readiness will drop for each day I am not able to play. For those asking, No I can't spare an extra hour to multiplayer everyday. Some of us have jobs & families to take care of. That's the reason I prefer Single Player games. I can pick them up and play when I want to. Basically Bioware gave me home work. Complete this everyday or get punished :(

This. I was seriously pissed when I had the chance to play MP (or any other game for that matter), and I realized I was almost back down to zero. That's just evil. Why exactly would you do that? It's not like you lose points in SP if you don't play everyday. TBH, it sounds like a ploy for more money...

Also, has anyone gone throght the code to see if there is some sort of glitch with SP EMS values? With just 200 or so points missing, it sounds to me like there's a bug with some war assets. Or, once again, it's just evil.Image IPB

Logically the ending that requires the most war assets should be the "best", shouldn't it?

I hope they do something about this.  I'd hate for them to release the extended cut ending, only to find out that I still need to shell out money for an X-Box Live Gold account and spend a few days playing multiplayer just to get the ending I want in the single player game I've been playing for five years.

How is this even legal? Seriously? Are you required to put everything needed to complete the game, or at least that part of the game for multiple part games, in the intial release of the game? Requiring people to play multiplayer, while possibly legal, is made illegal by them only a portion of those playing the game (xbox360 users) to pay extra just to complete the game. Whether it's through xbox, ps3, or your computer you are still required to pay extra with an internet connection in order to finish a game that was advertised as being an offline game (at least for plot purposes).

No wonder why someone took a case to the Better Business Beaure and claimed that Bioware and EA by extention falsified their claims about a product in order to sell it. Honestly, one of the worst things that Bioware ever did was join up with EA. Their fans warned and warned them but they still did it. Ever since they have produce games that were mediocre at best, down right horrific at worst. EA kills gaming companies and ruins their names.

This wasn't part of the complaint. It should've been because it was actually falsely advertised.
There's more than 200 or so missing. They said more than enough, not just barely enough if you did everything absolutely perfectly.

You don't have to shell out money on 360,there's a 2 day trial on the back of one of the inserts. Of course that's only going to help you once.

According to Mike Gamble

Of course you don’t have to play multiplayer, you can choose to play all the side-quests in single-player and do all that stuff you’ll still get all the same endings and same information, it’s just a totally different way of playing.

"All the same endings" implies bonus "easter egg" ending scenes, even outside of the "best" ending.  If "all the same endings" are not available without multiplayer, then Mike Gamble lied.

That quote makes it sound like there'd be enough just from ME 3 sidequests. Though there isn't enough doing almost all across 3 games. Turns out I missed a couple in ME 3 that I saw on subsequent playthroughs but they only added about 30-50 TMS anyway, not the 899 I was missing.
