PS3 and PC players shouldn't whine about this. Multiplayer is fun and it's easy to rank up your score. If you got an internet connection, go at it.
I understand where you are coming from.
Check this out. Multiplayer is fun. I enjoyed the crap out of the few hours I did. It was crazy, silly, challenging fun.
And I'll never play it again.
The fact that I had to turn off my single player game - put it on hold for four of my gaming hours - because some dude up at Bioware thought it would be fun and beneficial to me and finacially beneficial to them to get more people into multiplayer (and therefore buying the level up packs through the Bioware store) annoys me.
No, scratch that.
It pisses me off.
I hate being controlled. I hate doing things other insist I should. This is my play time that I fit in around a full time professional job and I'll use it how I damn well see fit.
Bioware took that control away from me. "If you want to see the best ending you'll do it our way."
I played along this time. I played along because I was already hooked on Mass Effect and wanted to see how it ended. But I won't make the same mistake again.
This in combination with the endings and the Day 1 DLC (which I already had because I forked out money for the Collector's Edition) represented a betrayal of trust that Bioware had been building up with me since I played Shattered Steel in 1996.
It doesn't bother you? Ok. Good. I'm actually very happy for you.
But I paid my money just like you did and the opinions I have on how I have been treated as a customer are just as valid as yours and more valid than Biowares. I am the customer. And after this game, me and my money are walking away.
