Hello,
I know that this isn't the EA Forum but there the mods or whoever's in charge don't answer unless it's to say "It's not our fault" which tells me, that they don't have a clue...
currently I'm downloading the From Ashes DLC. And granted while my Internet Speed is not the fastest in the world, I usually can depend on a ~180-200 KB/s.
Origin gives me a whooping 18-20 KB/s which means, that if no errors occur, I will be able to play in about 8 hours because I dared to but a 567,2 MB DLC.
So, question(s):
1. Is there a way to increase the download speed? I don't have any other downloads running.
2. Is it possible to download the DLC as an installer file like it was possible with ME1 and ME2? I'm sure firefox would give me a faster speed...
Regards
Downloadspeed in Origin

Depends on server your connecting to most of the time.
From M$, I get 2.2 MB/sec,
From Steam, I get 2.0 MB/sec.
But from various other servers, its different,
Sometimes 200 kb/sec, other times 800 kb/sec.
It also depends on if the server is busy to.
I have had my router and modem act slow, simple hard reset of both can sometimes help.

Is there any way to download it from this site without using Origin? I get fabulous download speeds at my boyfriend's house so I'd like to download there and then install on my pc at home (slowest internet in the world - 30 hrs for the 500 MB dlc
).
Also, does anyone know how big the initial game update is. Origin is telling me 15.8 GB which is so not going to happen where I live. It'll take weeks.

ClicChic your boyfriend is one lucky man for more reasons than one.
OT: I had no real issues downloading. I thought it was going to be modem slow because I nabbed it right when preloading went up. Expected a flood of people but it was doing 2-3MB/sec like Steam does. Oddly anything else (through the web browser) caps at 700KB/sec.

*sigh*
so I have to bow to the inevitable. The speed mamaged to climb to raging 30,4 KB/s and that lowered the remaining time to 4 hours. But still, this is ridiculous...

Hmmm...Alrefie those are speeds my pc could only dream of! If I have to do it through Origin, then perhaps I can use my laptop. ME3 isn't installed on it but Origin is...fingers crossed!
