As I progressed through the game I was already thinking ahead to my next
playthrough with a different imported character and the choices I would do differently. Around halfway
through the game I started seeing topics on diffrent forums about the
ending but I didn't read them because of the spoilers. They did made me a bit worried though. Still, I told myself there was no way for an ending to upset so many people and that the topics were probably about something not related to the story. Man, I was wrong.
After watching the ending I have no intentions of playing through it again. Or any other game for that matter. This weird feeling won't go away. It's somewhat comforting to see that many other people feel like this too and it's not just me. I just don't know what BW was going for. All I feel is extreme disappointment.
For a series about choices and consequences we weren't given any to a satisfying resolution. The choices are basically "How do you want Shepard to die/get screwed?" No matter what choices we made or how much EMS we amassed. Which brings up another question. What was the point of the Effective Military Strength? If you get the minimum amount vs the full bar the ending changes like 3-5% and still no good resolution is achieved. It didn't even have to be a happy ending, I just wanted closure.
My thoughts on the ending.

Have you seen the original dark energy idea for the ending? Coudl of threads have it in so far. Although it doesn't provide a happy ending, it does provide one that fits established canon.

EDIT: Thanks for showing that to me. It is a better ending by far. All we can do is hope they patch it in or something.
