He was my bestest friend in the whole galaxy and my last 5 minutes are spent dying next to some naval dude minor character who I barely remember from the first 2 games and shared absolutely NO adventures with.   Why wasnt it Garrus or Liara or Tali for some folks, EVERYONE knew it was the LAST mission and we all probably sat there at the Squad Select for about 5 minutes pondering who we wanted with us on the last (non eventful) 10 minutes.   I chose GARRUS to be that guy, probably like millions of others because he has been there for 120 hours and deserved to be there in the final moments.   But NOPE instead we all get minor character Naval dude.   You couldnt have  a major character follow Sheperd in?   Who's decision at Bioware was that?   The lawyers?   It makes sense if it was the lawyers, it couldnt possibly be the writers flubbing that.   How hard is it to write into the program (if you imported saved games) how many times certain squad members were selected for missions, and then tally that  up and have that person follow you into the beam.  Seems like a no brainer for me.   I wouldnt even of minded if Garrus died like minor character Naval dude, at least he would of been there at the end.
