Well I loved that the romance is included, it's written brilliantly as well. I romanced him. But I can see why would be annoyed, I didn't know if Garrus would have been a romance option and I was cautious about everything I said to him. Then again though it works both ways, as a male shepard, you have to watch everything you say to the female, you'll start romances without even knowing. Although what Bioware did with Liara was beautiful, her goodbye at the end had more of an impact on me than the whole Kaidan romance did.

But I never expected what did it happen.. he made a pass at me, WTF? Why, WHY? It ruined the bromance. I never used Kaidan again after that. Bioware can't grow a pair retroactively.  He wasn't.  They didn't make it cannon by adding it to the story in me1.  They cooped out, and doing it now is a conflect of contaniontiy.  (And if you hadn't noticed, i can't spell.)  But then, alot of us are in denial at the ending of the this game, I suppose your denial of Kaidan's established history can be excused too. *shrug*

Answer: Certainly not. He is still as much uninteresting as he was in ME1 and I keep my interactions with this idiot at minimum.

@Dave Exclamation Mark Yognaut I haven't played Jade Empire, it was on my to-do list. I love biowares writing, heck--I love the games FOR the writing. I think they could make something really cool if they explored numerous issues in their games, other than racism. Some things are touched on, but it would be cool to see more.

Horizon is still an issue so I was planning to use angry/renagade when it felt right. So I take it it's not one line of dialgue but a combination?

I let him live once, and that was with my Femshep.

Just shut him down and get over it. You don't have to romance him if you don't want to. It's the way that Kaidan is and you can't change that.

I got the hitting on me thing but it was fine. He still does the "we're brothers" thing. It wasn't like Anders where the only responses were "Yea let's be gay" and "Gross you perv!". I think the whole same sex thing is greatly improved over DA2.

Same with the Cortez guy, instead of him flipping out if you shut him down he just jokes about not having you as competition. I think they really did it right this time.

My male Sheps have always left Kaidan to go down with the bomb so I'll never run into this issue. My FemShep run in ME1 included virtually no Kaidan since he was a bit too enthusiastic.

K: I'm good but not perfect. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have burdened you with my problems.
FS: ??? No problem, I just want to make sure my crew is doing well.

FS: Shoot, I'm sorry. I just remembered that I needed to walk away from you, calmly but quickly.

But really, I hope that people are not going to make a case out of some people not liking his advances. Introducing the prospect of sex and/or romance into an established friendship is always a risk no matter what genders and orientations are involved. One of my best friends is a woman and I would be made intensely uncomfortable if she made a pass at me. That doesn't mean that I'm a woman hater, just that I see her more as a sister than a prospective mate.

@ Bfritos, the whiner thing is very subjective. however, I understand why it would bother people. certain triggers bother me. a lot of femshep players skipped talking to Jacob all together because of his early implementation and Jennifer Hales voice.

if it makes it any better, once you gain their trust, they are greately improved and actualy fully support you and your ME2 choices, in a final part of the game, as they finaly came around to understanding why you did what you did.

It's funny you mentioned Jacob in ME2 and BatmanPWNS saying about DA2, because in ME2 I was fooled by Bioware and in my first game as femShep I ended dating Jacob.

Then they tryed to trick me again with Traynor, but not this time Mr. Casey Hudson, I'm aware of your
tricks! LOL
Then I saved the game and tryed her and gosh, the whole scene is bad, very bad. Usually I don't mind characters being covered in sex scenes, but they should've created a different situation, because the whole thing is ankward.

As for Ash/Kaydan, they appeared to be very focused in ME2 and then they are totally insecure this time?

I'm all for more options for LI's but this kind of bugs me too. I don't understand why they can't just ask you what your sexual orientation is during character creation and omit conversations that don't concern you. It'd be fairly easy to program and would make everyone happy, but Bioware's fine with everything with a pulse hitting on you.

Best idea I've heard on BSN in a long time.

It's not about "growing up", putting on "big boy pants" or being insecure. I have nothing against bi's/gays but if I'm a straight male I just don't want male characters making passes at me. Nothing wrong with it, it's just not the way I want to play. In the future, asking for sexual preference before the game is a great idea.

You do realize the average female has to put up with several flirtation attempts right? Whether she likes them or not?

Should no males hit on a female unless she hits on them first? You know just in case she doesn't want them hitting on her.

Or rather would you expect them to try to get her interest just in case she's interested as well? Because unless you're telling me you've NEVER hit on any female that turned you down as far as I'm concerned get over it. It's a minute rejection and it doesn't come up again. People do it every day and don't run around screaming demanding that no one hit on them (well most reasonable people don't). Turn him down and move along. You're not going to melt because a dude hit on you.
