I see your point, but not everyone in real life will shout out about their sexualities. Some of my friends are bisexual and say they're straight because it's easier. With the right person, they can go out publicly about their sexuality. It's not a big deal unless it's taboo to your own personal mentality and growth.

I would have no problem with him not being openly gay... but in ME3 it feels forced. Out of the clear blue... an option JUST to be an option if you will.

Recon: Don't you know about a crush? Kaidan is free to express his crush even though he has a bromantic relationship with Shepard. I'm sure the writers meant that to happen because Shepard would be open-minded, in their "mind". Kaidan can be rejected as a possible love interest, but you can still be his "bromance" if you see what I mean, by turning him down and saying that you don't swing that way. It's nothing complicated. It's just a random situation that happens in life once in a while. And we all know that Shepard lived on to see many weird stuff in his lifetime. But hey, Kaidan will get over it. He's a big boy after all.

@Recon: Actually I don't think any of the LIs hit on Shep if he/she locks into a romance before the romance trigger convo comes up.

I know Liara didn't.

So I guess Recon only way for Kaidan to know he's a no go is if Shep's already in a committed relationship

Plus...Shep has Harbinger openly wanting his body. I'd say Shep has a few more disturbing paramores than Kaidan.

I don't think Kaidan's love for M!Shep was out of the blue. It felt cute, coming from him to actually grow to have more feeling than friendship and respect for my Shep. I didn't reject him personally because I waited for this moment to happen. I can see where some players are coming from, but we have to understand that our conversations with Kaidan probably left him to think we were actually flirting with him. No wonder he took the chance to came out as bisexual. Also, Shepard and Kaidan knew each other for years now, so it's not like it they were total strangers. They were still in contacts after all this time and the Virmire incident.

That's a shame. You could be spending all of that time on absurd comparisons of classes to romance, plus complaints that everybody in the galaxy isn't bisexual. That better fits the BSN profile. Hahaha, just like old times. To all the people who are so mad that another male is hitting on you, I say, "too bad". How many times have the rest of us been hit on by characters we don't like? Why do you think you're entitled to be flirted with solely by characters you're interested in? I think the thing to do in this situation is to "suck it up", as it were.

OR, you could just play as FemShep so that Kaidan's flirting is opposite-sex flirting. That's a good solution, right?

I'm on my second playthrough right now. As an ENGINEER. Engineers are awesome, by the way. You get a turret and a combat drone, and you can RULE the battlefield. The turret can shoot flames and rockets! How can anyone not think Engineers are awesome? I think they should get rid of the Soldier, I mean, what a waste of resources. All you do is carry guns and shoot. Lame.

As far as I know, no one has asked for Kaidan to hit on male Shepard first.   I, personally, would be perfectly fine with male Shepard being able to go after Kaidan, not the other way around.   It was BioWare's decision.  I must say, Kaidan is quite convincing as gay/bisexual.

The real man doesn't need turrets or drones to do his work for him, he has his flamethrower in one arm and rocket launcher on another. But that would imply that ranged weapons aren't for wusses. If he was a real man he would get up there and punch an Atlas to death with his bare hands. That's why I don't always play Mass Effect, but when I do I play vanguard.
