I'm going to "guess" BioWare doesn't make Kaidan hound you after a rejection, unlike Liara who finds ways to stalk Shepard through most of the ME series.
Look at the BIG picture. People are unhappy mainly because Kaidan's advances come out of NO WHERE. There's no build up and the trigger doesn't even make sense. If it was natural, if the trigger was more obvious and easy to avoid, this thread wouldn't exist. Isn't that a very positive thing?
Back it up. The buildup has been here from the start for queer gamers (and as an afterthought the hetero gamers) who have an interest in MShepard + Kaidan. In ME3 this goes toward making up for lost time. For once, ME devs chose not to exclude/cripple the M/M content out of service for those it is never intended for.
Here's another tidbit. If you still can't take it, then assign him to Hackett. Or rewind so you can get him killed. If only we could've had such fates lined up for Liara at any point in the series. Big picture, remember.
