I've been using the Mass Effect 2 Gibbed Save Editor 1.0.9.2 and getting great results... For a lot of new users, it gives a good breakdown of everything. It has lots of check toggles and works with ME1 and ME2 variables. It also has a Compare feature to help you see the differences between two saves. That's how I solved the Kelly problem. And using Compare, any Boolean (True/False) flags that you find can be edited into your ME3 save (via Gibbed ME3), so no need to start a ME3 game from scratch.

It's been linked before a few replies back, but it bears repeating, as it will help you better follow along with the more technical parts of these conversations.

About the Spectre thing. I have to change it in the ME3 editor since im doing a newgameplus+ and went around forever getting all the weapons, upgrades etc and dont have a ME2 Save. There must be a bool variable for it?

Are you doing a NG+ from a previous ME3 playthrough, or from a ME2 (and just mid-typed)?

OK I have a bad memory. Whoever was the one that wanted a save before the Tali Trial please send me a PM.

For information:

the Shepard is a "John Shepard," Soldier class, Level 30. I have accepted Spectre reinstatement however that can be changed with a simple check. I always choose Anderson for the Council and I always tell Udina I wouldn't pick him if he was the last candidate breathing ("I'm not picking you.")

As far as I can tell (I'm looking at it via the save editor) this save is before the Reaper IFF mission. Most other loyalty missions are done however. Whoever asked for it you have the option: I can package my entire career file in a .rar archive or I'll just include the individual save. when you send me a PM with your choice  (or post it here)  I'll upload it to media fire and PM you the link.

Media Fire Link for the save described in this post: Click here

Has anyone figured out how to use Kaidan/Sheploo textures or KaiLeng/Kaidan's hair properly?

I would like to make a decent looking male Shepard for once in ME 3.

Please any assistance would be much appreciated.

PlotIDClear is simply the opposite of PlotID. For example:

Zaeed in ME3

ZaeedAlive = PlotID 44/PlotIDClear 205
ZaeedDead = PlotID 205/PlotIDClear 44.

In other words, when he is alive variable 44 is true and variable 205 is false. when he is dead, the opposite is true.

Interesting sidenote: The flag for Council representative is only activated in ME2, not ME1. Your decision in ME1 takes place after the final autosave, so it doesn't get recorded. Only when Shepard is being quizzed by Miranda in ME2 does it log your answer into the ME2 Plot Table.

So that's what those PlotIDClear things in the parentheses are, to set my Liara romance on 0. Thank god I didn't play with those. Thanks for clarifying it for me. Dozing off to sleep.

Im guessing theres no bool variable for it? Wish there was a complete list somewhere. Never mind. Like i said its not a big thing.

Right. That quiz was reportedly supposed to have Miranda and Jacob be like "oh darn we messed up your memory" if you choose an option you didn't originally but becasue of where ME1 makes its end game save in relation to that dialog the choice is discarded

Not sure, I haven't tried to be honest. I've dabbled with the FemShep skin texture, hair, and the Kelly thing, but that's it so far. I'm not at my computer, but you can try the following:
1) Go into the Gibbed ME2 Editor and create a new template file, save.
2) Create another where you activate the Reinstated flag.
3) Run Open > Compare and load in the two saves.
4) Locate the boolean(s) that are different.
5) Activate those values in your ME3 save.

I haven't bothered with the others yet, but it's dead simple using Gibbed's Modified Save Editor 1.0.9.2 as listed above to compare. The only thing I needed was this, and now I'm happy!

Kasumi's Loyalty for Indoctrinated Hanar Mission:

37 = True
199 = False
182 = True <- Loyalty

She should now live through the ordeal :D!

I tried comparing but it went over my head. what about Zaeed Loyalty? 44=Alive 205=Dead ?=Loyalty

I'm curious: not having loyalty for squad members in ME2 means they are supposed to die on the suicide mission.... so if they aren't loyal, how would they make it to ME3 to then... well, die?

Edit: oh wait, newb moment. I'm now guessing its because people unlocked Zaeed and Kasumi after  the Suicide Mission.... nevermind..... :unsure: let me know if you guys still need the bool values for Kasumi and Zaeed.

Even despite that, a non-loyal squadmate can survive the suicide mission. You simply don't choose them for anything important, and don't bring them with you when facing the final boss. If you purchased enough upgrades, they'll make it out alive.

I'm also interested in the loyalty value for Zaeed. My paragade Shep couldn't keep him loyal because of ME2's weird paragon/renegade system.

Also, can anyone tell me whether or not I should see effects of altered save files in the same playthrough I'm in, or if I need to import for a NG+ after the alterations? I followed directions to change my LotSB information in my ME3 save file, but after a talk with Liara, I'm not seeing any difference. She still said "I'd been years since we've been together", even though it's been months.

Does changing name via the gibbed work for ME3 or will I have to change it for the ME2 version instead? Imported a shepard from ME2.

I tried using the ME3 version and it worked fine, til I saved my game, and it reverted back to the old name.

I changed the name via Gibbed and changed the actual save file name... And it still appears as my old name.

No luck here.

I actually have to wonder something I haven't caught anyone else asking about?
Is there an Ashley Friendship Variable floating around somewhere? And if so, where?
Because of that silly bug that ties several bits of dialog unrelated to her entirely, people like me who have a Kaidan VS can't see all that - I assume directly editing the variable will fix that.
(Because if they both used the SAME variable, the bug wouldn't be so obnoxious :P)

I second this, if anyone is able to find out it would be most appreciated. =D

I will be unable to check for a day or so because I'm going to be quite busy, but I can PM you when I get it. If someone wants to beat me to it, copy your save and tick/untick the IS LOYAL flag for the desired character. then run compare on the original and altered save and the output returns the number of the plot ID, which SHOULD be the exact same in ME3. set flag in ME3 editor and you're good to go. If I forget, PM me.

Please forgive me if this has been stated elsewhere but does anyone know how to add the Elkoss Combine license to a savegame? That is literally the *only* thing my canon Shepard is lacking.

I know it's been asked before but not seen the answer yet. Does anyone know how I can get Traynor into the shower on my femshep playthrough by editing my save file with the corresponding values? The dialog won't pop for me and I'm assuming it's because I missed a conversation somewhere between missions or wasn't nice enough against her. Any help would be much appreciated.
