Dunno about that, the Revenant is never going to catch up to the DPS of the Wraith in the kind of situations you'll use it in, and if we're talking assault rifles, the Particle Rifle walks all over the Revenant.

Particle rifle? Don't think it is very imo.

Particle rifle has a bigger clip and when it charges it up the damage amps up

Particle rifle has no recoil and with the extended clip outdamages a Rev with extended barrel

Better accuracy, better clip capacity, better DPS (when amped up), better stability.

Virtually the only thing it isn't better at is reload speed when suffering an overheat. ;)

I don't like that you have to stay out of cover so much with it tbh. You get killed very easily.

True... but you'd have to stay out of cover longer to get the same damage rate using a revenant.

Revenant is crap as well. TBH, I think the Valkyrie is the best overall AR.

Has anyone succeeded at purchasing all three Spectre weapons? I bought the Black Widow and Paladin and eventually upgraded them both to level 5 for my Infiltrator, but never managed to get enough credits to also pick up the Wraith. I guess you would have to skip buying much else.

Not sure how you've managed to get to the conclusion - its basically a Vindicator with twice the weight. It looks ok but its not realistically in the top 10, let alone being the best overall AR.

There's this wonderful tool called Gibbed's save editor. It can give you all the money you like so you can buy everything you want without having to waste time on boring grinding ;)

I don't recommend using it for your first playthrough, but it's great to test and try out new things Image IPB

I've been loving the Wraith on my Vanguard playthrough. My only question; which rank 6 Incendiary Ammo evolution do you prefer on your Wraith-using Vanguard, +10% armor/heath damage or explosive burst? I took damage because I figured armor is a shotgun's "weakness", it only has a 2 round clip, and when I actually do fire this power shotgun (between charge/nova spam, even without the half blast evo because I actually did want to shoot once in a while) I need it to kill immediately. Explosive burst seemed it would be better suited to a high RoF weapon, like the Scimitar or an assault rifle, and I've had plenty of crowd control as it is between Nova, Squad Cryo Ammo, and Liara.

Explosive burst. Wraith shoots 8 pellets, so u looking at 4 explosive busts per shot. Which is gonna be doing more damage in the end.

Was soloing Banshees & Brutes during the Campaign with this beast, although all those Weapon Damage buffs I picked up from Planet Scanning probably helped...just a little

Doesn't work like that. There is hardcoded 1s delay between two explosive bursts. One shotgun blast = 1 Explosive burst.

Yep, just saw a BioWare post on that. This is a good thing IMO.

Oh, well did not know that. Thats suck.
Still, 20.5% + 105 (or in my case 29% + 145) flat damage from Explosive bust is pretty much the same as just an extra 30.5% in damage. Even if lets say the Wraith does 831 damage, its still more damage even.

I actually put cryo on mine and save the explosive bursting for my Mattock/Paladin. It's not as good in terms of crowd control as the fire-dance-through-protections we got in 2 from Inferno was, but in the absence of that it's the best way to protect yourself when charging into a crowd if you don't want to Nova. (And, shockingly, I don't always want to Nova.)

Kronner, I know Eric said that there's a 1 sec cooldown, but it doesn't seem to be working.  Try the the GPR + explosive incendiary against the armored target on the shooting range to see what I mean.

I didn't like it for my vanguard as much as the N7 Crusader, I love the range on that thing, but it sounds like it's perfect for an Infiltrator. Maybe I'll give it a try.

The N7 Crusader is pretty cool, but boy does it weighs a ton, and quite frankly i could just use the Paladin. Hell i could carry the Paladin and the Wraith, and still get a higher cool down bonus.

I got my final Spectre weapon (the Black Widow for me) near the end of my second playthrough from an imported character. That was after fully upgrading the Wraith and Paladin to level 10. I don't think it's really feasible to get them all in one playthrough and upgrade them, but it might be possible.

I love the Wraith, my Vanguard uses Wraith with extended barrel and smart choke, Paladin with extended barrel and scope and an SMG - I forget which because I never use it. With my power/armour setup I have +200% recharge, and I can carry a Vindicator instead of an SMG and still have around +170%.

The Wraith dispatches enemies incredibly quickly, even on Insanity. Pretty much agree with everything the OP said in terms of why I use it.

IMO, the Crusader is too heavy when you could just use the Saber to do the same thing (lighter, same damage, same ROF, bigger magazine, even better accuracy).

I disagree - the saber is not nearly as accurrate at close-med range, in my experience.  If you try to use it at it's maximum ROF you will die.  The crusader can snap off 4 headshots at it's maximum ROF.  I'd estimate the saber would get off 2-3 ACCURATE shots in the cusader's 4.   The crusader is superior when you're working within pyro range and can work at long range, in a pinch.   The Saber is obviously the better weapon at longer ranges and can work up close but not as well as the crusader - at least on my GI.

I've used both fairly extensively and this is my opinion...

I think the problem is that the argument you're making here is academic. The Crusader might be a better weapon than the Saber at very short ranges (and I stress 'might', as its not a given - its ability to hit precisely where aimed means its an all-or-nothing weapon and its recoil basically means firing at full RoF is only likey to stay accurate at melee range) but there are better and lighter weapons than the Crusader for short range work, and at longer ranges, the Saber's stats make it a better choice.
