Hi all,

There are many many topics about the Ashes DLC that cannot be activated. Maybe its a good idea to have  ONE central topic about it ?

I phoned 2 hours with 2 EA helpers yesterday in The Netherlands. I got many solutions to try but it was a hard job.
The problem is ( in windows7) something did block the activation. I Downloaded the entire game again on a Win XP machine and there was no problem at all to activate the DLC. So something in Win7 is blocking the activation.

We tried a lot of things but none worked. I even uninstalled my protection suite ( Firewall and Virus scanner) F-secure.. but didnt work.  setting the UAC protection in win on inactive didnt work. On the Origin page Rightmouse click on the game the DLC and upgrade and repair didnt work. The origin page does show everything is downloaded and installed correct. No upgrades ore game fixe needed ore availeble.

Finally i tried the internet settings that go in Win7 and put all off them on inactive ore lowest and put on accept all cookies. Turned off UAC disabled the firewall and Virusscanner.. again and BINGO the DLC is activated.

After that i inmediatly turned of the power of my router, I put all settings on normal again, activated the Virusscanner, the Firewall and the Deep Guard options again.  and resetted my Computer.
I then looked to be sure all my security settings were active again and re connected to the Internet.

I started ME3 again from Origin and the cannot activate Ashes DLC message is gone. So i suppoose it works now. ( i didnt start playing yet.

While dooing this all i also checked what happened on Mass Effect 2 because i was always unable to connect to Cerberus. With all security settings off in the Internet Options i do can connect to Cerberes. After putting back the options to normal ore HIGH protection i could not connect.

So the problem in windows 7 ( home) is probably the standard settings on Internet security that windows 7 sets up.
In WinXP and win98 there is no problem.

Hope this helps and i hope there wont be another 100 ore more topics with  Cannot Activate DLC.

PS (I didnt  buy  the DLC  seperate but i achieved the collecters edition, download version from Origin)

Take Care you all .
regards from the Netherlands.

I did everything in the quoted sentence except accepting cookies. And it works! many thanks!
I Also reverted the changes back, and the dlc is now working.

Even Microsoft knows that origin is a virus. This doesn't work for me.

Dartlawsuit, have you tried to click the square button "Enable Protected Mode"?
