minus ending 11/10 with ending 6/10 ending made the game commit suicide
If you IGNORE THE ENDING, what are your thoughts on ME3?

I certainly feel that it was the best ME game in the series, they had almost perfected the formula (I do have issues with one key having so many functions assigned to it).
I really felt like I was getting closure on all of my previous choices, the important ones obviously, right up until the end.
The writing was overall great and the game had some very memorable lines and scenes.
Oh and the music score was great and very fitting.

Ending aside, it's one of the best games I've ever played. I had a smile on my face from the start right up until astroboy on the Citadel.

Well if I ignore the end. It had to be the greatest thing I have ever played. This game made me such a giant baby at some scenes. ( Btw having to explain to your parents you're crying over a game? Not exactly fun ) The soundtrack was great. I was afraid some of the "action" bits would be "Lul we're a shooter" and not really engaging. I was proven wrong.
Sorry I have to mention the end for two seconds. It just sucked to be so emotionally involved into a story. Only to have none of it matter. It's like the game is laughing at you for crying or something.

ME3 was a perfect game. The best game I ever played, but the ending killed any single player replay value I had for it.

Hands down the best game I've ever played. Too bad it had to end, but this will not be the last time we hear from Bioware, so this only makes even more excited about what they will accomplish in the following games to come.

Nowhere near as good as ME 2.

Perfect, aside from a minor quibble about the quest journal getting a downgrade since ME2. It had me hooked with a sense of urgency and foreboding right from the start. I can't wait to see how it ends.

Game of the Year until the ending. I can see it still getting it, regardless, for how much people care about it.

Good game with a lot of Great moments. Never awesome, because:
-They changed the plot.
-They gave us the Crucible instead.

Awesome game. I may hate the ending but it doesn't make me want to not go through it all again for some reason. I will replay Mass Effect again and again just to spite the ending.

Minus the very ending(s), perfect, best I have ever played.

Other than the ending the game was fantastic. Sadly, the ending presents several problems that taint the experience.

I loved ME3.... the ending is the one of two things that ruin the game to me (the other being the star-child/kid that dies at the start of the game).

So with ignoring the ending? Hmmm Let me think back to the midnight release and when I first poped it in.... Yep I was in engulfed by godliness awesome.... Then flash forward to that Friday... I beat the game... past week ruined...

I thought it was a fantastic game that perhaps fumbled a few of its ideas a bit (the EMS meter, for one), but was just so great that its handful of faults were completely overshadowed. The characterization, the environments, the gameplay, and the stories were all stellar.
Then I got to the ending.
It's amazing how that little segment of the game completely undermines the entire trilogy. And that's really the most disappointing part: it casts a deep, dark shadow over a game I thought was one of the best ever.

Absolutely great game (ending aside). I was disappointed by the planet scanning - I would have rather been able to go down to the planet and kick butt (like in ME2 when an "anomoly" was detected) - but that's really my only gripe about it. Felt a little short, but otherwise awesome.
Then yeah... the end.
Edit: Space Ninjas, Kai Leng specifically. Must have purged them from my memory already. Felt awfully cheesy, but I can forgive it.

ME3 was good. But it had other issues besides the ending.
I still haven't Been able to import my face for my Shepard characters.
Game was buggy. Crashes. Lacked a good QA pass.
Another thread here with all of the "issues"

I agree with you Mass Effect 3 was the single best game I've ever played until the end of course.

It was my favorite one.....until the end and I can't ignore it. My opinion of the entire is now seen through a freaky ghost child and his red, blue and green colors. The ending is what you take away with you, and I took away a slap in the face.

Loved every second of it (except the several seconds I stood in that damn scanner outside the Normandy CIC).
But that being said, it's kind of hard to ignore the ending. It's not one bad link at the end of the chain so much as a fray in the rope that, when you snap it, sends the whole rope tumbling into the chasm below.
