Or they think we're all going to buy the Omega DLC anyway, because it's so epic and awesome ... :P I find myself in the uncomfortable position of dearly hoping that I paid 80 dollars to get punk'd.

I'm afraid you're right...

My thoughs ?
Nothing he said clearly, no need to hear what he never said OR admited.

I think he understand the amount of frustration, but nothing indicate the future plan is about a brighter ending, it's about futur plan and that's all.

I found it kind of hard to believe that Shepard survived getting hit by that laser... Every time before, that laser was instant death.

I don't even think he is referring to our backlash. He is saying we have middle story DLC to prolong your journey to the agonizing end.

But he clearly implies that we wouldn't be as raging as much as we are if we knew the stuff they are planning. Clearly it must have something to do with the ending as that is the major point we are angered about.

Chief, because that would imply they did this on purpose. Why would they release the proper ending aftwewards? Are we test subjects? Some people had a hard time with the current endings, I don't see the need to hurt people's feelings if this is not the ending.

I'm just confused about this whole thing. Oh well I guess time will tell.

We're all confused, Catt. We're all just grasping to the pieces of hope that are out there.

There is no hope.

They simply made a bad ending. They didn't have enough talent to finish it properly. This happens. Life goes on. Better luck next time, BioWare.

Everyone remembers Fallout 3 and the backlash Bethesda got for their original ending, right? They released Broken Steel DLC after that to "modify" the original ending. I remember playing Fallout 3 a couple of years ago and being bummed by the ending, so I hope Bioware follows suit with Mass Effect 3.

The fact that games like Fallout 3 have altered their endings before now means that it isn't impossible for BioWare to do the same, especially because I feel that they truly care about their fans' opinions. (Example: They finally included Kaidan as an S/S romance, so I'm more inclined to believe that they care enough to hopefully change the endings...)

This tweet gives me SO MUCH hope...

but I have no idea how BioWare can do it Fallout 3 style. Fallout 3 and Mass Effect 3 are completely different types of games. I don't expect gameplay post-Reaper-destruction, but more like adding in more cinematic sequences.

I haven't seen any posts/threads about this tweet. To be honest it gives some hope.

There were tons 3 days ago when it was first tweeted. Believe us, we're paying attention. He follows that tweet by saying he's surprised anyone thought he meant DLC. We can look for hope, but I don't we need to look for old vague tweets.

Your thoughts?

To be honest, I believe this is just his reaction to the massive negative feedback from the most dedicated fanbase. It's just a PR way of saying, "Yeah we screwed up, but we'll pretend we had plans from the start".

I'll recycle this from another thread where I posted the same.

I believe that the endings were deliberately delivered in such a way that they could be interpreted either way. If the reaction was positive, they would be left as is. If the reaction was negative, as it is, then the dream sequence explanation offers a convenient way of deflecting blame and admission of a mistake. As an added bonus, it helps to gauge how profitable an ending DLC could be.

This is just my opinion, so take it with a fistful of salt. Probably just left ambiguous for the sake of being more "Post-modern".

The fact that we're actually hoping for an "it was all a dream" ending is a clear sign that the ending was messed up.

No doubt, but may be he think making awsome story dlc would compensate for this frustration.

The game was sold as your choice matter and yeah, no way they would have given the same ending for every player (it was what they declared in interview).
They also said that the player would get from the game what they expected bla bla bla.

If what they said is genuin, i think their vision is totaly desconnected from all the fan frustation.

Unless Bioware clearly state "Yes, we have plan to had a brighter ending in the future", i won't take it for granted, and i won't purchase any ME3 DLC until it is fixed.

Wouldn't you feel betrayed a second time if you are wrong and your assumption alone make you buy all DLC until the "good one is released" but they never make it because they never planed it?, because you "assmue they'll do it, but never said it clearly".

No - "coming through for us" would have been real endings for ME3 on the release date.  If they planned, this whole time, for the ending that shipped in the core game to not be the actual ending, then we got punk'd.  I'll be really relieved if they mitigate the damage they've done by delivering a real ending, because that would make ME3 replayable, which is what I want - but if they planned it that way this whole time, all they've done is taught me that I should never buy a BW game before it's been out for 6 months.  You know what else I never buy before it's been out for 6 months?  A new OS.  Making ME3 the Windows Vista of video games is not "coming through for us".

Only way out i can see is if it were a "we wanted everyone to get the real ending at the same time." thing.

At this point, even if it's not, lie to me. I'm willing to believe it.

He states he never said anything about DLC. Just because he doesn't say it literally doesn't mean it isn't being planned.

He said there's big things being planned for ME3 and implied it has to do with our rage over the ending. What else could it be?

Well, he might be implying that he's got some killer DLC that'll take place during the main game, and it'll be so cool, we'll rush back to try the campaign again, even if we know what's coming.

Not that I particularly want this outcome. But a dose of realism to go with the hope might keep us from flying too far, too fast, huh?

I hate to admit it, but I gotta go with this guy. I let myself get away with being over excited for ME3 and got burned. I don't need that amount of build-up followed by a fall so soon.

So you are all okay with the fact that the game is in fact in complete. Developer pulled a stunt to make fan want to pay for a better ending? That's something seriously morally unacceptable if they do this on purpose.

To me, this sounds more like "If you only knew what we have planned for the future of the Mass Effect series" rather than, "We're sorry the endings sucked, we're working on a fix".

I hope I'm wrong, but let's not jump to conclusions.

They are just trying to get us not to tell our copies back to gamstop or whatever. they want people to buy their games new.
