All three endings show the destruction of mass relays and/or The Citadel.  No faster than light travel. No galactic community. All races are stuck in their homeworlds or what left from them, no connection with colonies. Also huge Allied navy and armies left in the Sol system with their government leaders.
Conclusion - it effectively kills Mass Effect setting. I do not see a ground for any kind of sequel.
Question - What have you done, Bioware?

Prequel would be weird, knowing that the Reaper threat is coming.

I think there are plenty of adventures to be had whilst the galaxy is rebuilding, but none of them are possible without the mass relays. They've destroyed the chance of experiencing more of the mass effect universe.

OP is right, ME is dead. It's time to find new games or universe, preferably sci-fi/futuristic

well that and you don't get to keep playing after you beat it, unless you count going back to a previous save

Control ending seems to preserve the Citadel.
Obviously it's the best.
Believe the Reapers. They're your friends.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNN

Probaly intergalactic war between all the races? The fight for survival?
The relays being destroyed will and should fuel that?
But if ME 4 is going to be made what about shepard? I cant see any way of him/her coming back...

long time reader first time poster,

yeah, i would want to know why only the control ending preserves the citadel, it seemed like it still destroys the mass relays but the citadel is both the center of the network and a relay it self, so why is it fine? also whats controlling the reapers if Shepard gone unless he simply uploaded himself into the citadel (think edi into body) and is controlling them always.

guess that shepard vi is now the citadel vi....

I don't think i'm the only one who would love a game about the First Contact war.

they can only go in the past.

unless somehow they manage to write in some reasoning for efficient FTL without the need for the relays.

something that always baffled me about the mass effect universe. so ok, every species in the game discovers the relays and eventually the citadel. why doesn't anyone even understand how it works? I've read codex's where it said people attempted, but it just so God damn mindbogglingly dumb.

It's like, the every day joe/jane using a computer and a car, they don't know exactly how all the components work and how it comes together, but if one was disciplined enough you could break it down and figure out how it works.

nobody bothers with this in the Mass Effect universe.

As far as i see it right now, Bioware has not just simply ended Shepherd's story, but ended the Mass Effect universe as well.

and it is a dark grim bitter reality one. yes civilizations can always rebuild, but it's bitter sweet seeing what the galaxy used to be like before the relays were obliterated.

Look at all the effort it took the Protheans. It took them perhaps up to two or three centuries to build their one singular mass relay, and even then they were only able to link it to an already existing relay (the Citadel). How could they possibly start to rebuild anything even remotely resembling the relay system?

By destroying the relays and the Citadel, BioWare ruined the Mass Effect universe, turning it into a world where we are again alone in the universe, albeit with some permanent alien residents and advanced technology.

I don't know. Skyllian Blitz, war with turians? Is it that interesting? If you compare it to the Shepard's story.
Also, does it have any attractiveness for ME fans after ME3 ending? When you know that all of you achieve will be doomed to failure.

Intergalactic? Hah-hah-hah, how you want to fight galactic war without FTL travel? The relays being destroyed will force isolation.

not ending, just new beginning. The endings still suck though.

This is what hit me harder than anything Shepard related. I was prepared for his death. I was NOT prepared for the devs to essentially force the entire franchise to pull a Saren.

Its time to find a new company that won't end a series in such a way as to destroy any fun the entire series ever had.

Yeah, new beggining alright. Sending space men back into caves.

ME4 will be set in like 5000+ years after ME3. Maybe then they will have new relays or other means of transportation, if everybody wont die out by then.

remeber the FALLOUT series that Bethseda got, maybe they r doing fallout on earth with all the different races & the husks. Don't think i would want to play different fallout series. ME3 ending was too depressing to think of playing a post Holocaust i the ME universe.
