ive been avoiding spoilers for this game but i need to know at least
where this quest is. I know what you have to do and that it has to do
with some sacred ashes quest, i just need to know WHERE this quest
takes place. I.e. If its part of the main or sidequest, and where do i
go to start it.

be specific please. Im new to the game so i dont
know areas very well, im finishing up the grey warden quest, can i go
there right after this? I need to know the area i goto and the name of
the actual quest that starts it, if its a side quest/main story quest, ect

just saying 'its in so and so' isn't gonna help. Im looking for something like 'after beating the warden training quest at the start, when you goto the map its in...'

Once you accept helping arl emon of red cliff his wife tells you go to denerim and see someone cant remember name now at market disrict. It's home just opposite of that tavern. You talk with his servent or he says "he gone to haven" after asking where it is and push harder to get answer that village's marker comes to your map.

You can't directly go to the place where you can get the reaver spec. First you must go to Redcliffe and finish the main quest there and then you get the sacred ashes quest. Basically just follow that quest and you will eventually get the raver specialization if you side with the right people (Hint: it's basically an evil option and some party members may turn on you).

tnx so again, to clarify, as soon as a spot named Red cliff shows up on the map i go there and start the main quest and it will lead to the sacred ashes quest eventually right?

if thats right, how soon does it pop up after the warden training quest at the start? im really shooting to do this by lvl 7

You can go to Redcliffe as soon as world map opens up. Meaning after warden training you must go to Lothering and after that you can go to Redcliffe. There is no way you will be able to get Reaver spec at level 7 in your first play through. It takes quite a long time to finish sacred ashes quest and it's probably better to get it as your second specialization at level 14.

There is really only one way to get it by level 7. The thing with specializations is that once you unlock them on your account, they're unlocked forever and for all future characters you make, or past ones. So you can save your char at level 7, then play to unlock the reaver spec, then load up your old level 7 char and you'll have it unlocked. But then you have to re-do the whole questline, which doesn't make much sense.

I would however recommend doing this trick so you can keep your party members. The part you have to re-do then is really only the very end part of it. Just do the main questline through redcliff and you can get either champion or reaver depending on what decisions you make.

im not concerned with losing party membes since i wasnt planning on using either of the ones you lose. I'll try just rushing to lothering and redcliff then

one final question.I can just wait and not use the spec point untill i get the skill right? i dont HAVE to use it at 7 do i? just dont want to not use it then not get another chance untill i hit 14

You can get the ashes before you ever set foot in Redcliffe.  you get the location of Haven from Denerim.

hmm can you explain that a bit more noone? where would i go to do it without going through redcliff? someone mentioned something about going to lothering and you can find something mentioning looking for a scholar in demin.

wondering if someone can go ahead and elaborate on this and if demin shows up imediatly. I guess if you gotta do spoilers go ahead this is one thing i want to get ASAP

This. Walk to Denerim, look for Brother Genetivi's house in the market, and either try to enter the back room twice, or just grill "Weylon".  Either way you end up with Haven on your map, and after walking there, you're on rails for the rest of the way. Agree to work with the crazy people in the caves when you finally get to a set that won't attack you, quicksave before interacting with the urn, and do as they ask. Whether you reload after unlocking the spec or run with it is up to you, specs are permantely unlocked, so it doesn't matter.

tnx one final clarification denerim is opened up after i goto lothery  and find someone asking to find a schollar in Denerim right? if thats correct whats the soonest lothery shows up on the map, and also does denerim show up on the map after lothery or do i have to just wander around untill i find it

also still wondering on the earlier question:
I can just wait and not use the spec point untill i get the skill right? i dont HAVE to use it at 7 do i? just dont want to not use it then not get another chance untill i hit 14

All unspent points stick around. And you have no choice about going to Lothering, so don't worry about it. The game is 100% on rails to that point.

Don't worry about it, get more than 5 hours into the game first.

After lothering things really open up.

You will eventually get to go to the ruined temple for the urn of sacred ashes. If you act evil you'll get it. But be prepared for fallout from your party members.

Fortunately, once you unlock a spec it is open for all play-throughs without the associated consequences in those future games.

k think that pretty much sums it up, sorry for all the questions i just really wanted to get this ASAP

gonna go untill lothering opens up, goto the chantry there to learn about a schollar in denrum, go to denrum, goto brother gent's house and start that quest line up, then off to haven
