This topic is for those who would like this type of ending to at least be a possibility.  This is not for those people who think it's unreasonable to expect it or think us supposed "Disney-ending, sunshine and rainbows" people are somehow less than they are because we hold a different view of OUR Shepards from theirs.

I'm curious to see just how many people think the same as I do.

You know, I never understood the argument with the "Disney-ending, sunshine and rainbows". Just because Shepard gets rewarded with a live with the person he loves, and mabye other people of his crew aswell (and god knows, Shepard deserves it), doesn't make this a "Disney-ending" or the game itself any less dark and sad. Even if Shepard survives with his LI, with the relays and the Citadel intact, you still lost BILLIONS of lives. Every major planet was ravaged by the Reapers, be it Earth, Palaven, Thessia or Dekuuna. You lost the majority of the galaxy's military forces just to buy time for the Crucible to work. You lost more than enough friends and ex-squadmates (with Mordin's death being my tearjerker moment No1). An ending like that would still be very dark, but with a shimmer of hope that the galactic society can and maybe will still be rebuild.

I was hopeful for this with the expectation that I would have to get all side quests done, reputation high and EMS/Readiness maxed out, even if it meant several hours of MP.

Taht said, I did all the above and feel shafted by the options presented, aweful.

Yes. Shepard deserves to catch a break. After the dust has settled, I want to see the whole gang get together in that bar in Rio, that Jacob mentions. Mourning their lost comrades, and celebrating that they once again overcame impossible odds. Some sort of narrative that would briefly tell us what everyone went on to doing afterwards.

I see no reason why the option shouldn't be there.

Hell, I'd take Shep's death as canon as long as there was at least one option where he/she lives and gets to be with his/her crew and LI.

Before I get to Earth I save three separate species from literal extermination (four if you count Turians). Oh, I also ended one 300 year war, defeated Cerberus and saved countless other lives. At the point I'm Chuck Norris doing a Jesus Christ impersonation while riding on a three headed unicorn, spitting rainbows.

I think surviving a pissing match with a bunch of Reapers and a retarded kid god should be easy.

Telling Liara I think she could lose a pound or two on the other hand...

Edit: Just to be clear, yeah, I'd like an option where Shepard survives and get's CLOSURE.

This is what I was looking forward to prior to playing ME3. I figured for sure they would have an option like this in there and wow, still devastated about it. Plus the fact that the romance development was soo good in ME3 that it made the ending feel even worse. Tore my heart out.

This is exactly what I wanted to be available to Shpeard as an ending ; Shapard escapes intact (though mangled) after destroying the Reapers, finds a way ro reunite with his (living) team members, regroups the remaining fleets not destroyed, puts plans in motion to rebuild the galactic community, then lives out the rest of his days with his LI in peace. I think at this point, the Shepard character has pretty much ****ing earned it... I don't want a whole re-write either. I just want the damn option. Without technoology or the mass relays, the Mass Effect universe is essentially thrown out the window (though finding ways to cross the galaxy again would be a neat subject to touch on - i.e. worm holes, dimensional gates, more powerful FTL drives, etc.) I'm confused, disappointed, and a bit angry.

I feel like some people think a happy ending is 'too easy'...but just like the ME2 final mission, the dozens of options at the end is what's so appeal.  I would never sleep with Mornith either, but I'm okay with it being an option at least.

You know, I was really tired last night when I was doing to the 'goodbye' part with everyone, and when Liara did the mind-thing and thought "Ha, wouldn't it be funny if she was doing this to have a ShepBaby."  I never even romanced Liara and I found the idea cute.

I always thought that would be a possibility if you put in the maximum amount of work and made all the right decisions. I'm rather sad that it's not.

Yes I do. I mean, ME1 had a pretty happy ending no matter how you played it. ME2 was really good because there the ending can be depressing, bittersweet or happy. ME3? Bittersweet at best. Why does a trilogy with characters that I have grown to love has to end this way?

Ditto.  The "choices" really deserve the Turian Councilor's air quotes.

I do want a happy ending for once. The endings to other games I played this year have been bad. I really feel for your LI, knowing you can never be with him/her due to the ending. Sorry I bailed on you Liara :(

I would love an ending where Shepard lives happily ever after with his LI. I would also love an ending where the reapers win! The thing that made ME2 so great for me was the fear of loosing squad mates and maybe even dying myself in the final mission. The range of the endings made every decision feel meaningfull in both me1 and me2. "Have I done enough? Am I prepared? Which squad member will do this and that task?" These choices had me on edge through both games. And then in ME3.....pointless.

THANK YOU. I'm glad someone sees that even if Shepard got with his/her LI at the end with relays still working it doesn't make the ending all "Disney." The casualties taken in the war up to that point were already insanely high, even more so with the final assault on Earth (the Allied Fleets get an asskicking even with EMS very high).

People, to reiterate others, we want this sort of ending with closure AS AN OPTION. We don't want it handed to us, hell, we want it to be a time consuming effort you really really have to work for. Just give us a choice, somethiing the series has been great at until now.

Yes, I want the ability if I work hard enough in game to live (in some form) no matter which ending I choose.  Then I want exposition that shows Shep being with their LI at the end.

Having it as an option would be fine...good even. I still want a satisfactory "canon" ending though where I see some of the resolution played out and visual.....not what we got. I don't expect them to do it the way I wanted it.
