This is exactly what I want, too--and it's what I thought would at least be a possible outcome...before the end run toward the beam and everything went all pear-shaped and the game basically gave me the double fingers.

I'm not asking for the current ending options to be changed; anyone who likes the ending as it is shouldn't have it taken away. What I want is the
chance for a reasonably upbeat ending. It should be hard to achieve, should be something you really have to work for, but it should be achievable.
As for specifics, these are absolute, set-in-stone "must-haves" for me:
* Destroy the Reapers
without desroying the mass relays and thereby screwing over the entire galactic civilizaiton.
* Destroy the Reapers
without killing EDI and the geth.
* Reunited with LI and what's left of the Normandy's crew and Shep's team. (I want my Shep to help Tali build her house on Rannoch, goddamn it!)
* After the Reapers are gone, all the races united against them continue to cooperate so they can rebuild their civilization. Because, let's face it, even if the Reapers are beaten, they've already f***ed up the galaxy's feng shui. Everyone will
need to work together to rebuild.
If Bioware can add on a possible ending that would allow us to achieve that (and again, I'm perfectly okay with having to work extra hard for such a triumphant ending), then I'd be willing to buy any non-free DLC, expansion packs, and whatnot, as well as more games in the future.
Edited to add: And by "working extra hard for it," I mean...maybe this sort of ending is only possible on hardcore or insanity levels. Or maybe even a playthrough on insanity followed by a NG+ on insanity. Small price to pay for a reasonably happy ending, I think.
