The dialogue is already on the disc, because it was recorded much earlier then the rest of the content was finalized. The fact that I had to download 600MB of data is a pretty strong indicator that the content was not on the disc.

the most telling part of this is that this was obviously developed alongside the game, a number of bioware people have said otherwise

If BioWare just came out the gate and said they developed the Prothean squad mate for N7 editions only and later decided to make it available for everyone. The complaining on day one DLC wouldn't exist.

i own the CE so i didnt pay something for prothean.

I lost this war from beginning.

It's more like Kasumi...you know back in ME2 you also could find traces of her in the core game. A bit of ini hacking even allowed you to make her appear in your squad roster. But the whole recruitment mission was missing.

It's the same with the Prothean. You can make him appear in the core game -but his mission is unplayable.
