that small dragon in the beginning of the werewolf lair has deuced me about 6 times now... what can I do to kill him? he always goes for my mage first too and he's the only healer.

The cheesy way to do it is to use Cone of Cold. Makes the dragon trivial. Otherwise:
Keep your mage far away and send your tank in first. Don't let the mage cast any offensive spells until the tank has gotten a few hits in. If the tank has massive armor and threaten/taunt, the dragon should never attack anyone else.

There are a lot of traps inside the cavern btw. Better to pull the dragon out.

Never had any problems with a mage healer, specifically Wynne, just tank and spank with lots of potions.

First time I tried this guy was impossible. It was the first area I went to after Lothering though. I had bad gear and didn't have force field spell so was just about impossible to tank the thing.

Saddens me how many people are cheesing the game and actually starting to rely on force field to play.

I were able to skip that dragon, run near wall at left.
P.S I use force field only to do shockwave

He seems to have pretty poor physical resistance checks
I've paralyzed him, paralyzation glyph'd him, and then the other time I misdirection hex'd him, don't think I've even lost a party member.

Morrigan and Dog went down quickly after the start of the battle so I killed him with my Archer and Alistair. I left Alistair out front chugging health potions and used the archer from far away to hit him constantly. When the dragon`s health got at 1/4 I used AoS and killed him

Definitely the puniest dragon in the game. Cold spells and healing potions. If you have Wynne, bring her along as Lifeward and Group Heal should be the only edge you need to keep your party alive if things go south. Shouldn't need to use Forcefield.

The first dragon I met, and I wondered if my game was bugged. He's so tiny!

Male dragons are puny, they only grow to be Drakes. Only females get so big and angry.
I never had any difficulty with this dragon, I think he's a real joke tbh. Taunt with Sten, Death Hex with Morrigan, Arrow of Slaying with my PC, Zevran backstabs. boom boom boom dead. The only tricky part is the traps in the room. But I usually get deaths AFTER the encounter due to dodgy NPC pathing lol.
Even the High Dragon is a real joke if you can keep aggro with your tank. Flemeth is tougher though, even being lower level than the High Dragon. On my second playthrough now, I want to see what Gaxkang looks like.
P.S: anyone else really disappointed that there is only 1 Dragon "skin" ? Flemeth, High Dragon, Archedemon, all the same. In NWN you had multiple colors at least, can't remember if the models were different though.

Hold party outside lair, switch to rogue, stealth in, disable traps, bring rogue back, switch to main tank, have tank run out to draw aggro, undo party hold command.
Unload as fast as possible, have mage spam debuffs and holds, heal any party member and/or use a potion as soon as they approach 50% health.
Easy fight.

I don't remember having much of a problem on this fight the two times I've done it. First time Allistair took point while my mage and morrigan unloaded on him. I didn't use forcefield at all, may have thrown CoC a few times. Second time Shale tanked him with a fire crystal mounted for defense while my rogue stabbed. No need for any tricks in that fight. Both times I snuck a rogue in beforehand and disarmed all the traps.
