I will also say, remove that dumb ass jar head Vega instead of Garrus... Garrus is my bro.

I'd say this would've been a better option. I assume Vega contributes more in a non-imported game, but he's dead weight in an import.

Hell, providing Jack/Miranda/whoever as a temporary squadmate for the final level (and having them walk out all green-eted together behind Edi and Joker in the synergy ending) would probably have put these both situations into the "I can live with category" for most people.

I loved the m/m Kaidan romance, but I did wonder how the romances with ME2 squadmates panned out. Disappointed that it seems they were so anemic.

The part I don't quite get is how they forgot about the PS3 players. You know, the people who only had Genesis and no chance to import from the first game? They get to know the ME2 squad, choose a LI, and are greeted with the consequences in the third game: Garrus and Tali are luckily exempt, but Miranda and Jack have limited screentime and dialog, and Jacob and Thane aren't even considered 'real' romances. So beyond those of us who prefer the ME2 LIs anyway, you have a group of people who are mostly in the dark about the ME1 squad, and have no reason to care.

I wasn't expecting an equal amount of content with the LIs who were squadmates, but invalidating two romances and downsizing the other two like this is pretty awful.

No doubt. I think I used EDI only twice. I still can't believe they made EDI a squad member when they had a lot of squad members to pick from in ME2.  EDI was only need for one mission.

I particularly thought the cutscenes and the romance scenes, for romance options in ME3, were superior when it came to the predecessors.

Especially when it came to GARRUS, who fans only got to see a head bump in Mass Effect 2. I LOVED the Citadel date and the conversation before the final assault. I even got a little teary eyed -- music and everything was PERFECT.

I will have to agree and sympathize with gamers who wanted to romance Thane, Jacob, Jack or Miranda though. I was just as disappointed that they weren't on my team because they were such important assets to the story and my Sheppard previously. I at least wanted more interaction with them before my Sheppards inevitable death.

I think the one that surprised me the most was the lack of Miranda for M Sheppards. She was basically "cannon" from the trailers for Mass Effect 2, and players didn't even get that much of a cutscene with her, let alone time to speak with her. I give my condolences to my fellow players who were neglected a good resolution for their LI's. I know that I would have been POED if the same thing happened between my F Sheppard and Garrus.

The quest with Jack was awesome but after that the bar scene and radio contact at the end. They were lame...

Worse thing is once i learned about Jacob and Thane i felt lucky... Relation between Shep and Thane was very deep during ME2 (same goes for Jack too).

The goodbye Shep gives Ashley was pretty much worse than his "Hey, what up dawg," response on Horizon in ME2.

And also, there was no real variation in the afterglow scene. Just insert new character. Lame.

I found the character interaction as a whole to be very dissapointing and not just the relationships. In mass effect 2 you were able to go and talk to each squad member like 10 times before their loyalty mission even came up then another 10 times after that (ok i know 10 is an exaggeration shh)

In ME3 some characters (like vega) you can talk to one time. ONE while your on the normandy... WTF is that??? Then when my LI ahsely comes aboard, and i go try and talk to her, we don't even enter a conversation wheel, she just spits some random one liner. The only time you can have a conversation with her is when shes hungover as s***. All in all the character interaction in this game was abysmal compared to ME2 or even ME1

Yeah they said quality over quantity but i'm prety sure Samara, Thane, Jacop and Jack had at least 3 time more dialog then any ME3 squad member. Even better those dialogs wasn't auto.

I'll support in adding more characters or allowing your LI from the previous game to be a perm squad member.

But you do NOT touch Garrus. I will cut you. >:(

Garus!

You might as well remove Shepard as well. Garus's/tali have always been the main stables of the series and fav's...

I went with Tali and Garrus from me1 and Im extremely happy with how BW handled it. The friendship with Garrus really evolved and the citadel scene was fantastic. The romance with Tali was also amazing, loved how close Shepard and Tali grew.
It was nice to meet all the team members that survived me1 and me2 again, even though I would have liked the meetings to be longer. Thumbs up to BW from me : )

I agree and was happy that Bioware seemed to acknowledge that. I only did one playthrough so far but I was very pleased with the romance with Tali and the friendship with Garrus. In further acknowlidgement, I've read they get together if you don't romance either.

I got very worried about no "Shepard survives" ending when talking to the squadmates at Hammer FOB because Tali and Garrus had the grim "its over" conversations where you could bolster up the other squadmates and part with some hope!

I was really disappointed, in ME2 I Jack was my love interest and I did like where they took her in ME3 with her growing up and being a teacher but keeping the attitude but when they turn around and have barely any interactions after the Grissom Academy mission I was peeved. On the last mission when you talk to her over the hologram she says "After all this I'm getting laid." Where's that? I wanted a conclusion where Shep and Jack (or whatever LI anyone had) standing side by side as possible leaders in rebuilding Earth or another planet.

On that note, With the Mass Relay explosions...Don't they take out entire systems? I haven't played the first one but the Batarian system was pretty much wiped out when Shep had to destroy it to save from the initial Reaper invasion, right? So every system would've been wiped out f the galaxy...Sol included. If every system pretty much went supernova then no life in Sol, or any other system would've survived.

Not having played ME1 I hope I'm not talking out of my ass. Feed back would be nice.

You are correct with the fact that relays can explode and cause cataclysmic damage to the systems but its my theory (and i dont remember miuch from arrival) that they did something to the asteroid to help ensure that the blast destroyed the relay.  There was no room for error.  I may be dead wrong and it was just a normal rock but then that doesn't explain how anyone in the galaxy survives because all of the relays just went ka-blooy

Liara's was ****ing amazing. Great scenes and interactions. Only thing I would've changed was the constant failure in not changing up some non-romance dialogue up to romance dialogue. For instance, she calls you a 'friend' a few times.

I thought I had messed up somewhere when I saw that she was calling me just a friend.  So I decided to play chess instead.  Will make sure I don't do that on my next play.

What about Wrex? One of the most popular characters in the series doomed to be a NPC? Not a single fight with him in ME3 together? But hey, thank god we got Vega, the new "human token Krogan" nobody knows, likes and gives a fudge about...

I totally agree. Maybe all the squadmates in ME2 were indeed too many, but hey, why on earth can we not decide who will be a teammate and who won't? Especially LIs other than Liara/Ashley or their male equivalents get the short end of the stick. This is just bad design, especially since the game's already quite short.

Same with my preferred enemy Harbinger. He used to mock/taunt you all ME2 lonhg and now he's muted all of a sudden? And worst of all, we don't even get to fight him, the villain every ME2 player knows/loves/hates/fears, but instead we get that cerberus bloodelf rogue assassin that only fanboys who read the book/comics give a damn about?

I think the characters in ME3 aren't as detailed as in ME1 or 2. You just don't get to know them that much better, especially the new guys such as that assassin or Vega. Heck, even the shuttle pilot has more personality than Vega.

Pretty much if you didn't romance Garrus, from the last game all you get from the other people are "
nice to see you again baby. Hey where is the bed because I missed you bad....wink wink"

I like Wrex as an NPC. Especially as the leader of the krogan, it makes the race tolerable. He is the reason I saved them because I believe in Wrex. He's that badass.

@OP I get'cha. Exchange James for ME2 love interest unless the ME2 love interest is on the ship anyways or there simply was no ME2 love interest. In those cases you get James.

Yeah the were very disappointing. Especially Tali's because of how bad the scene was and the TERRIBLE photoshop'd stock image they used. Plus you only get to talk with them(all squad mates) with the convo wheel, about what? 3 times maybe?

Anyone who is disappointed with Jack and Miranda are lucky they don't play a FemShep who went after their male counterparts, Thane and Jacob.  - _-   But even so, from what I've heard about Jack and Miranda it's not much better.

But in my case, Thane. :crying:

I even went back in ME1 to make a game where I did everything the same except romance Kaidan, imported it into ME2 to make a Thane-Exclusive game and what did I get. . .?

Thaaaaaaaanks Bioware.

And I feel the need to reiterate as I have many times that Thane's fate isn't what bothers me, it's the lack of recognition and interaction between his appearance and his . . . disappearance.

And the lack of acknowledgement after the fact, as well.  I was hoping for a ME2 kind of deal where his photo would be on your desk or something and FemShep would reminisce before the final mission but nooooo, we don't even get that much. <_<

ETA:  In my 2nd playthrough I imported my Garrus romance.  And while in ME2 I was comparing Garrus vs Thane's romance quite often, all I could think about in ME3 was that Garrus and everyone else stole all of Thane's screentime. XD  Which I know isn't true, but a the time I was like "WTF is up with this scene, when Shep was doing this she coulda been visiting Thane or something."

If I can visit Kaidan in the hospital three times, I should be able to see Thane progressing in the hospital as well is all I'm saying. - _-  And even at his death scene it was so dismissive it hurt.

Exactly, And even if the energy pulse that the Citadel made had purged the energy from the Mass Relays the energy had to go somewhere. "Energy cannot be destroyed, only transformed." With that being said even if Mass Effect field had been morphed into any other form of energy, heat, radiation, hell, even pure force, it still would've reaked untold havoc upon the systems in which they were stationed. And to just magically shut them down without having a vent for said energy is just stupid. Example, even nuclear power plants need to leech the raditaion and heat caused by fission by submerging the rods in circulation water...No water = big meltdown. With the relay's big boom at the Paragon ending so many systems would've been totally vaporized.

I really wanted a decent scene between Shep and Jack. Jack, and tali are my two favorites. Jack for the badass woman with a heart of gold and Tali for the inncence mentality more so and the awkward charm...I WANT A BETTER TALI FACE!!!! For good examples look on Devientart.com.

This absolutely annoyed me.  I never romanced Kaidan in ME1, romanced Thane and then I'm super torn up about Kaidan being hurt, yet Thane is just a visit in passing??  Made no sense.   There is no way my Shep would have just sat and talked to him, and then LEFT HIM on the Citadel.  She'd be hauling back onto to the Normandy with her, just to keep him safe and comfortable.
