Fidget: The issue with Thane's romance is that his character becomes quite different if you've romanced him in ME2. He finds meaning to live in his relationship with Shepard and reuniting with Kolyat. So to see him react exactly the same even if he wasn't romanced or loyal (I believe?) feels like a backtrack. In addition, there just isn't that much LI content at all. A few "siha"s chucked in, a Paragon interrupt kiss that turns into an abrupt makeout session, and an email that was already available in LOTSB. You don't even get the cool "terminally ill drell stopped an assassin from reaching his target" line.

Agreed. If a single flirt option followed by a flat out rejection equals a romance, then BioWare has some explaining to do as to why Aveline married Donnic after I 'locked her in'. ;PYoshiyuki Ly wrote...
When on earth were we promised a Samara romance? Samara says excplicitly that she does not wish to pursue any sort of relationship. It's not against the Code, I know. But if you know Samara well enough, you know that when she says she will or will not do something, she means it.
The only promise I read was that the Shepard/Samara relationship would be 'taken care of' or some other non-committal wording of the sort, nothing indicating an actual promotion to legitimate LI status. I would suspect would mean another 'no' for people who didn't seem to understand the first 'no'. It could be that that was planned, but eventually scrapped because it just seemed like a waste of resources when she already rejected you well enough the first time. Among the promises broken by BioWare, I would consider that one to be barely a blip on the radar.
RE: Miranda. Of all the ME2 LIs, I wouldn't call Miranda a 'cameo'. She had a decent-sized subplot and probably not a lot less dialogue than some of the squaddies, her role just seems smaller because she's not on-board spouting throwaway lines like 'not now' and 'later' when you click on her. She's also the only ME2 LI to have a cutscene.

Yoshiyuki: I won't argue with that, it just seemed to be a cruel tease.

Or a paramour achievement. He's not even in the ME3 artbook. He gets thrown up on the Normandy's memorial wall and Garrus mentions the VS instead of Thane.
Very disappointing indeed.
