So yeah, I just finished ME3, hurray! There's only one thing thought.. I don't understand ONE. SINGLE. THING. about the ending.
From the point where you enter the citadel throught that conduit, I was as confused as I'll ever be. Like what's the deal with that kid? Why was he on Earth in the beginning? Is he the one who created the reapers? Or created life? Or is he Harbinger? And why would he want to give Shep the choice to destroy the Reapers if he created them or is a reaper or.. whatever? And what was that about solutions and reasons for this whole "exterminate all intelligent organic life every 50.000 years"-thingy? He just doesn't make sense to me, neither did anything he said....?
Also, in my confusion I just chose one random option to get some clarification on the whole thing. So I chose to destroy the Reapers (since that has been the goal all along, right?) over controlling them or doing.. what the hell that third thing even meant?
Anyhow, I destroyed them, yay war is won, Mass Relays destroyed, Normandy getting totally spaced doing and FTL jump while the Mass Relays were getting destroyed... Then it cuts to a crash-landed Normandy, with Joker and the two squad mates I used back on earth (don't know if one of them would be switched for my LI since my LI was on that squad) stepping outside onto a jungle planet... So... what? Did they get to some kind of alternative dimension? What about Shepard? And for God's sake, why are they smiling - shouldn't they be, Idk, confused? shocked? Trying to make contact with the fleets? And what happened to.. well, everything? Earth, your squadmates, the fleets, the people of the whole freaking galaxy? This kinda makes the whole series a waste of time since we don't even get to know what happened to, well, everything?
And lastly, while we're at it, what was that scene after the end credits? About stories of Shepard. Were all ME games a story that someone was telling then or was THAT in our own universe so to say or.. what? :P
An why is that creepy kid there too?!:alien:

Changed from original ending. It now seems to be a vague artsy statement.
Although a few have said they dislike the original dark matter ending, it is consistent with the lore and with foreshadowing. It doesn't just conjure a god kid up and say whoops end of game...

Come, you're one of us now. You can find a hug thread a few pages back, and there are two megathreads for people to demand a change or convince themselves that the ending was all a dream.

It's ok, you can let the tears out, BioWare can't hurt you any more here.

Welcome... Take a seat over by the rest of the confused, heartbroken, in-denial, enraged, saddened and generally emotionally broken fans.

So no one's actually understood what the ending is about yet?

You are definitely not alone.

Write out your own ending, man. Good place to start is Anderson's death. Made me feel better, at least.

It's understood, it just doesn't fit the game. The most concise way to explain it is this -

Citadel is a big AI and it made the reapers, it did this because the Reapers are syntheitcs who wipe out organic life so organic life can't make synthetics that wipe out organic life.

Then they use space magic from the sky wizard to fix it.

Well.. that actually makes sense, even thought it's one hell of a paradox, and I still don't get who the kid was and what happened to Shep and everyone and everything he knew but, oh well, space magic it is then!
