Yes. Bioware and EA have a lot of money.

In its current state, I believe not. The ending is one of the most important parts of a story. If ME3 was a novel, I'm absolutely sure the publisher would send it back telling the author to fix the ending or it won't be published.

Also, there are a ton of GOTY awards, but I'm assuming you are reffering to the ones on Spike.

people will forget about the whole game, it came out to early in the year fo an award.

Dead Space 2 should have won GOTY last year, but it came out to soon

Wouldn't that be the greatest thing ever? I'm really, really surprised how it managed to be approved after all the developers, writers and other proof-readers went through it... Oh well!

The game is good. It all depends on how big the ending is weighed in. Personally, the ending was a key selling point for ME3 and it failed miserably but as we can see with a lot of the press reviews that it didn't really make a bit difference in score. So..who knows.

if fans votes actually count, then no.

If you disregard the ending, then I think that ME3 is GOTY worthy.

No, it won't. I think the bets are now on the new Max Payne game.

You think this has a chance of topping Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, Diablo 3 despite how money-greedy the Blizzard has become.

I guess I'm talking about GOTY in general. I know there isn't a "dominate" entity that is acknowledged as the video game hub of the world, but bioware should be motivated by this award to change the ending.

I hope not. Bioshock Infinite should beat it hands down now.

Also, the original Bioshock: probably my favourite ever ending to a video game. What was nice was you had to earn it (not kill any Little Sisters). It wasn't just handed to you, but if you did everything right, you got the better ending.

as a standalone game, yes.
As the final installment in a trilogy, hell no.

It'll definitely be a runner up. And I wouldn't be surprised if I end up voting for it, unless AC III happens to be something amazing beyond belief.

Mass Effect 3 had great music. Great visuals. Great combat. Fantastic characters. An epic story.

The biggest and worst offense in the game happened in the last 10-15 minutes.

I believe if ME3 had the best possible ending, the series would be declared GOAT.

The day a Call of Duty game gets GOTY is a sad year for the gaming industry.

I wont be voting for it. Ill vote for ANYTHING else. No game company has ever built up my hopes and then smashed them to pieces.

As it is now, it shouldn't. In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see any game of the year awards for mass effect 1 and 2 taken away for this. That's how damaging I feel the ending is to the mass effect story as a whole.

It could have pre-ending, but there is no way in hell now.

You cannot reasonably disregard the ending of part three of a trilogy.

Yeah.  The whole time I was playing, I thought, "GOTY, right here."  Even if I ignored that ending, I would still say that.  A lot will come down to how willing people are to weigh the firs 99.9% of the game against the last .1%.  The sad part is that what amounts to a very small portion of the game was able to mess things up so much.  I have a feeling that for review sites, this is still going to be a contender.  It still got rave professional reviews, even though most didn't specifically mention the ending.
