Look, I know it's the weekend, and I know BioWare employees probably don't want to spend their weekend off going before a forum of upset fans and trying to defend their work.  Lord knows I wouldn't.  But this ending business is picking up speed.  Over ten thousand people have voted in just two days, and it's on the cusp of 19,000 total as I write this, with a consistent 97% in favor of rewrite.  Almost everyone I talk to and every I've seen online is upset about the end for one reason or another.  I know Michael Gamble has hinted at something big coming down the pike in that now infamous tweet, but in my opinion, now is not the time for vague hints and cryptic promises.  He's asking us to trust him that better things are on their way for ME3.  At one point, I would have trusted BioWare, but that trust has been shattered now by the endings, and I feel that many other people here feel the same way.  If there is ending DLC coming down the line, now would be a good time to just come out and announce it.  I'd even be happy with just a quick little notice that you've seen all the fuss going on and are working towards addressing our concerns.

What can the possibly say? They have made two games in a row with deeply unsatisfying endings. These are endings that destroy all replay value for many people.

Bioware really needs to rethink their whole strategy here. There is no quick fix.

If a random dev says something, it might be taken by the fans as a promise or a denial. They need to get together as a team to decide how best to respond. And there's always lots of other crazy things going on release week. Give them a break. There will be a response of some kind. It might not be what we want, but they comprehend the size of this.

Simple, they're "professionals." We don't like working weekends if we don't have to.

I really want a reaction from them. I want to know what they were thinking when they saw the ending and didn't see a problem with it. They are probably going to ignore it and pretend that everything is ok,and just talk about new dlc missions which have nothing to do with the ending. Sad, really.

Give it a week or so for all the releases to hit first. If BioWare announces anything now, it's bad publicity, because then the gaming news outlets can't just ignore it as they currently are.

Priestly is busy locking spoiler-y threads. They are around.

I'm guessing most of them are ashamed of the ending too and don't want to defend it.

Sorry Man , but i dont think they are going to change nothing , i wish they add more endings , but i dont think they do that , they will say is OUR fault we dont understand the end , that we are "Against Changes" or dont say nothing at all , remember DA2 ? This is Bioware , its not Bethesda ( Who change the Fallout 3 end because the fans dont like ) or CD Projekt Red Studio ( Who made Wicher enhanced edition and Witcher 2 extended edition for the fans ) , for Bioware/EA we are not people , we are numbers , unless the sale numbers for the DLCs and Future games Drop they dont give a S.... if we are happy or angry with the end.

OBS - Sorry for my English

How I experienced BioWare/EA so far, the big announcement will probably be some new DLC that has nothing to do with our complaints.

I will say that I understand that they need some time to consider what to say, if they even plan to say anything. But like the OP said, the most we have so far is Mr. Gamble saying that whatever they have planned will keep people from trading in their copies. I don't think now is a great time for vague hints at something great. There are a lot of people that are considering trading in all three games because they don't see the point anymore. (Not me personally, but I understand where they are coming from.) The fact is, whatever plans they have for future content WILL be affected by this. Some will have traded the game in out of anger, others will simply not care to shell out $10 for something that only counts in the moment and gets them a few war assets.

They'll talk. We have to give them some time. Way too many disappointed customers for silence.

Honestly it is the fans fault for not looking at the deeper meanings of the endings and only taking them at face value, once people realize that sacrifices were made for the greater good of the Mass Effect galaxy I think they will fall in line.

They sold 3.5 million copies....19,000 while seeming like a lot, is a drop in the proverbial bucket.  That being said, the 19,000 are probably the most passionate so they should say "something" but I doubt it.

Bad ending, poor LI story unless you went with Ash or Liara...maybe Tali.   There were a ton of great things about this game...but some really big glaring issues too.  I didn't want for 2 years for this kind of payoff.

That being said, some critics love the ending so Bioware will just point to those and say "See.  People do like it."  Oh well.

Probably 2 weeks before they even respond anything worthwhile other than accepted Company lines. What can they say?

Bioware: 'This was always the plan". "There is more coming in DLC that will give you more resolution and finality." Only slight alterations were made to the final chapter--we feel enhanced the story." ????? Etc.

Really, they won't admit that they were wrong, because it is their story after all. Not ours. And that's where trust comes into play. We trusted them that they would give us at least some control to make it our story....control of the ending "appears" very limited. That's being generous.

Valo_Soren - I know you are happy with the ends you got , and thats great man , all the time and money you invested in this series finally pay - off , but let me ask somenthing , we are all gamers here , and we all like this series , so why , even if you like the endings , you always saying is our fault , we dont understand ? If they add more endings is going to hurt you ? No you have more replay out of your game and we get the endings that we like , so is a win win for all , all the gamers and Mass Effect fans win this way , we are not against you in nothing so why you always act like you are against us ???

I trusted them on their word about our choices mattering and other such statements.  What we got was basically the same ending with different colors and quite a few "that doesn't make any sense scenarios".  I trusted this was the end of Shepard's story.  This game, the very discs I bought, not an ending that comes after in DLC form.  When you release a game that promises a conclusion, an ending, you don't leave the real ending off and sell it later.  Why should I trust them now?  Trust is very easy to lose but harder to regain.  They can fix it all they want but in my eyes, they failed on their words and it will be very hard for me to trust what they have to say about future games.

Like people eventually reconciled themselves to the Star Wars prequel trilogy, right? Oh, wait, people are still complaining about them.

There is intersting philosophy working in some parts of the ending, but the dramatic/RPG element was totally upended to achieve it. Since the dramatic/RPG was what attracted people to the games, they probably won't fall into line.
