An employee posting in here to reply to fans while they are this angry would be B) a suicide mission.

Are you kidding right now? Fans were promised a wide variety of endings in which all of our choices severly impacted the outcome of our games. We did not get any of that. Instead, we got a number that dictated the degree to which we were punished, and we were only punished. All for investing ourselves deeply in a character-driven game series that was spectacular up until its last moments. It is not the fans' fault. It is not our fault. It is BioWare's fault, for not delivering on the things they initially promised and for rushing the ending of such an incredible series.

Honestly it is the fans fault for not looking at the deeper meanings of the endings and only taking them at face value, once people realize that sacrifices were made for the greater good of the Mass Effect galaxy I think they will fall in line.

It is a poor Shepard who blames his flock, Apostle.

Look, I know it's the weekend, and I know BioWare employees probably don't want to spend their weekend off going before a forum of upset fans and trying to defend their work.  Lord knows I wouldn't.  But this ending business is picking up speed.  Over ten thousand people have voted in just two days, and it's on the cusp of 19,000 total as I write this, with a consistent 97% in favor of rewrite.  Almost everyone I talk to and every I've seen online is upset about the end for one reason or another.  I know Michael Gamble has hinted at something big coming down the pike in that now infamous tweet, but in my opinion, now is not the time for vague hints and cryptic promises.  He's asking us to trust him that better things are on their way for ME3.  At one point, I would have trusted BioWare, but that trust has been shattered now by the endings, and I feel that many other people here feel the same way.  If there is ending DLC coming down the line, now would be a good time to just come out and announce it.  I'd even be happy with just a quick little notice that you've seen all the fuss going on and are working towards addressing our concerns.

They sold 3.5 million copies....19,000 while seeming like a lot, is a drop in the proverbial bucket.  That being said, the 19,000 are probably the most passionate so they should say "something" but I doubt it.

Bad ending, poor LI story unless you went with Ash or Liara...maybe Tali.   There were a ton of great things about this game...but some really big glaring issues too.  I didn't want for 2 years for this kind of payoff.

That being said, some critics love the ending so Bioware will just point to those and say "See.  People do like it."  Oh well.

They shipped 3.5 million copies. Whether they will sell them remains to be seen.

I'm guessing they know their screw-up, and simply don't know what to reply with. I don't know a single person that actually enjoyed the ending, or took any real emotion or thought provocation from it.

While there is a little more anger in the words here than I feel, something really stood out for me...

"we got a number that dictated the degree to which we were punished, and we were only punished. All for investing ourselves deeply in a character-driven game series that was spectacular up until its last moments."

This is so true to me.  I feel so VERY invested in this story.  This was just "my Shepard"...it was me for lack of a better explanation.  All the endings seemed like a punishment.  Do I want the happy ending and sitting on a beach studying seashells with Mordin as Miranda prances around in a bikini?  Well, yeah.  But if I can't have that, how about at least surviving or even having my crewmates burying me.

Instead, I get a quickie hook up with Miranda in some random apartment (classy), no real "romance" scene (as pervy as it is, there is a pay off in seeing that scene I guess...makes it more complete) and then a vid call at the end that just gives false hope.

Bah...just frustrated.  I love/hate that video game can do this to me.

In order to ship them, the stores had to buy them no?  Bioware got their money.

He's right its our fault that none of us really care about Mass Effect anymore with these endings. I feel disappointed with the endings not angry. I honestly didn't expect shepard to come out alive or prancing around in happyville but I did expect for there to be a conclusion not what seems to be an intro into dlc

Sorry Man , but i dont think they are going to change nothing , i wish they add more endings , but i dont think they do that , they will say is OUR fault we dont understand the end , that we are "Against Changes" or dont say nothing at all , remember DA2 ? This is Bioware , its not Bethesda ( Who change the Fallout 3 end because the fans dont like ) or CD Projekt Red Studio ( Who made Wicher enhanced edition and Witcher 2 extended edition for the fans ) , for Bioware/EA we are not people , we are numbers , unless the sale numbers for the DLCs and Future games Drop they dont give a S.... if we are happy or angry with the end.

OBS - Sorry for my English

Yeah, deeper meanings. Aah, we have dismissed such claims already.

At the very least I think we deserve an explanation from Bioware. Not just some excuses from community coordinators, but like a full-on press release from Casey Hudson or Mac Walters (preferably both) that explains why they made the ending the way they did, and what they're going to do about it.

But whatever happens, it'll probably take some time before we get a definitive answer. Im sure Bioware has noticed all this uproar over the crappy ending, but it'll probably be a while before they even decide what to do.

If they don't change this ending I can solemnly swear that I will never buy another bioware game again. I want a definitive ending, something that actually makes sense given the story so far. I've poured countless hours into this game, and I think that we, as fans, deserve some closure. I've had games with bad endings before, but none that have ever lingered in my mind as this one has. My time just feels as if it had been wasted on nothing.

My question is this if we destroyed reaper tech i.e mass relays then how could there ever be another mass effect?

Well the silence thing happened with DA2 as well for a few days, till they crafted a scripted response to it. I believe it may take a few more days for them to come up with something for this nightmare, since the ME3 travesty is far worse then what happened with DA2.

if you want your voice heard louder got to my blog which I have a link too in my Sig , click on my ME3 review and click on the links to my polls.

1. would you Boycott Bioware if they don't fix the endings
2. do you believe Multiplayer should have no impact on the single player campaign
3. Facebook Campaign demand better endings for ME3

They made this ending because they said it was a trilogy.  May as well kill everyone if there isn't a Mass Effect 4 (though, then stargazer needed to shut up and we didn't need to see a chest gasping for air...

This.

I can't even put into words how devestated I am over the endings. All that hard work over the years of playing the first 2 games, uniting an entire galaxy, and this is how it all ends?  I don't think I can bring myself to ever replay the Mass Effect series again.

I really want a reaction from them. I want to know what they were thinking when they saw the ending and didn't see a problem with it. They are probably going to ignore it and pretend that everything is ok,and just talk about new dlc missions which have nothing to do with the ending. Sad, really.

Who says they didn't see a problem with it?  Didn't they change the forum code of conduct just a few days before release?????

I don't anticipate anything. I've got to imagine they forced those endings to be so similar to setup whatever they've got in mind for a Mass Effect 4. In which case, wheels might already be in motion and we're all SOL.

Part of me fears that they'll take all of the hate of the endings and say that you hate it because you hate the gay romance in the game.

Non-sense of course, but at this point I wouldn't put it above them.

Which the gay romance scene is classic because the reasoning behind not having a gay LI in the first place was because it was the idea shepard wouldn't be gay thats why there wasn't a gay LI until 3 they wavered on their stance about that

There's a specific process that has to be completed for releasing information to the public, especially regarding something like this. Here's a few hypothetical situations:

1.) Random BioWare/EA employee comments here and gets ripped to shreds. No matter what he/she says, the employee will get torn up.

2.) Random BioWare/EA dev comments: Heads will roll. If the dev said that the the ending was a hallucination/dream/indoc and that more information will be sent via DLC, the people who liked the ending (all 7 of them) will start up. If the dev said that the ending was set in stone and that the DLC only enhances the story prior to the ending, a riot would occur.

If either of those two happened, not only would BioWare/EA have to perform damage control on the employee's comments, they would also have to coordinate a response to our unhappiness with the ending (still) while working on Patch 1 to fix some bugs and also trying to release the game in various markets that don't even have it yet.

I can really only see two possible situations from BioWare:

1.) BioWare/EA doesn't respond to anything, future DLC only enhances the story prior to the ending, and ME4 or the bridge book(s) elaborate on how the galaxy has been impacted by Shepard's actions.

2.) BioWare/EA responds by telling us that a future DLC will expand upon the ending and will deliver closure to the storyline.

I would put my money on #1. Even though I wouldn't actually put my money on anything ever produced by BioWare/EA ever again if that were the case.

In a capitalist environment, saying anything that even implies failure is tantamount to suicide for not just a product, but a company as well. We'll never get an official statement from Bioware/EA because they're still selling the game to people who aren't on the forums, people who don't research products before buying them, people who are in a Wal-Mart and could possibly see the game on the shelf and go, "I've heard that this game is amazing, let me see...critics gave it a 9.5? That's baller, I think I'll pick it up!"

So, no. I don't think we'll be getting any dev comments soon. And if we do, they won't be the comments we're hoping for.
