I'm not sure if anyone else has seen this, I just saw it on the Demand a better ending facebook page. It seems like it's an audio clip of an extended conversation between Shepard and Anderson right before the massive fail. All I can say is holy crap, why would they cut short such an emotional and great scene?

I wish you could skip through all that crap, at least the second time around. Awful awful awful ending, *vomit*

Because Astroboy was getting impatient?
#5
Posté 11 mars 2012 - 06:34
Because it implies hope for the future for Shepard and his team, and we all know that any such thing couldn't be allowed in this ending.

Interesting... I'm kind of on the fence about whether or not that should be included. It would definitely add to the overall emotional impact of the scene, but given the endings we got, it just makes it so much worse.

See, that scene I felt was really great and the fact that we missed a lot of it make it almost a little more depressing. Not only did the Reaper God Child ruin our ending but it cut Anderson's last words a little too short.

Well, I guess because that was from the original ending... which actually made sense...
Everything after that is, well, not that good.

Might've been cut because Shepard almost certainly dies. Too much hope.
But yeah, would've like that part included myself.

Wow... i am losing more faith in bioware by the minute. First a horrible ending and now they top it by cutting an epic conversation from the game.

It's kind of sad that people think it's too hopeful. I mean the whole game I was being hopeful. "No no, don't open the brandy now, we'll drink when we achieve victory!" Because I thought surely Bioware's wisdom would allow such an occasion.
What have you done to us God/AI kid? YOU'VE KILLED OUR HOPE!

i played the link again... feel like its proof that they originally intended the ending to be something else, then asspulled a rush job for the sake of production deadlines.

Wow, and people wonder why it feels like the ending left no hope. Something like this specifically shows that they at least thought about it. Maybe it was only meant to be for that one conversation, but at least it was something.

See, if this was the ending I'd be happier! It gives Anderson a proper send off!

Yeah, was asking about that in my thread too.
I wanted to listen to all of it in-game, but... unfortunately, seems to be cut off.

If that's the same audio scene that I just heard it is by far and away better [for most of my Sheps] than the one we got. If things would have just ended there I would have been perfectly happy.

Don't know what geniuses decided to cut this and not the Star Child.

Oh god.....that was beautiful. If it had just ended there, a flash of light, the reapers falling dead. Your squad mourning by your grave. It would have been a thousand times better. Even when denied a happy ending, this would have been better than the mess BW left us with. Damnit, now im all sad again :,(
Why BW?! WHY??

I want this in my ending. This exemplifies so well on the relationship Shepard and Anderson had. Want to go cry now.

Why did they have to dumb that down?
I'll take all the Anderson I can get.

Why would you remove something this amazing? Did they pass control of the game over to lobotomized chimps at the last minute?

Yeah, it would have been much better. But still, it would be another "giving us hope and then crushing it", like people said by just knowing the leaked endings and not that the conversation was shrunk.
