You use your imagination to create your own closure.

After that i think i will stop the videogames and go back to the books. Never disapointed with them.

If the point of Mass Effect was to make you imagine, why put so much emphasis on engaging the story? Sure the element is fine if some proper closure was given; but no everything came at an abrupt end in fashion worse than the Sopranoes.

If I wanted to use my imagination, I wouldn't have paid 80$.

People are using their imaginations-- the indoctrination theory is brilliant-- but even if you imagine the closure in different ways, it doesn't change the fact that Bioware copped out from taking an actual narrative stance on what really happened. That's shoddy storytelling, and, after 150 hours worth of gaming, people have the right to be upset.

It's the writer's responsibility to properly end the story. Not mine.

It's fine to have to use your imagination to fill in minor details. It's not fine to have an ending that feels like 10% of a much longer, better explained ending, and not even a continuous 10%, and have to fill in 90% of the content on your own.

My imagination believes everything after the magic elevator was a reaper hoax in order to get shepherd to commit suicide.

Try getting away with using that as your ending in a novel.

" ... and they all ... (use your imagination!)

THE END!"

Here use your imagination I give you a white piece of paper.

That will be 60 dollars.  And if you buy the collectors addition which comes with crayons its only 80 dollars.

Have fun. :o

I use my imagination to write my own goddam stories and I do that for free (for the most part). I didn't pay for a game only to use my imagination.

Clearly you don't know the extent of head-canoning that goes on here :P

I can come up with, off hand, four or five different scenarios for an ending. But I don't work for BioWare, so it's not on me to do the legwork.

I'm going to use the Indoctrination Theory as my headcanon. It makes way more sense than the current ending.

Well then I can also use my imagination and write my own fiction instead of paying Bioware to share theirs.

In that case I'll start using my own imagination instead of buying Bioware's games.

Already did.
I am still pretending that the actual ending just never happened:
It was all a hallucination after the arrival of Harbinger. The real fate of Shepard and the universe remains unknown.

What if LotR ended before frodo got to mount doom?
What if Star Wars ended as Luke was getting on the Death Star?

If the writer does his job, we shouldn't have to use our imagination. I don't want to write a story, I want someone to tell me a story.

I would use my own imagination, if I didn't see the cataylst scene, but I can' scrub it out of my mind. So instead I've added to it, the keeper rebuilt the mass relay, gave Shepard a new body like Edi but more organic so she can grow old and die, and then they transfered her mind into it, and she seeks out the person she loves.

You need a good ending to imagine the rest. Take my most recent book I read; The Caine Mutiny... does it end with Keith and Marie getting married? Hell no, but it does end with Keith planning to do what it takes, it gives you hope. It gives you an ending where you can say... yeah, things work out... you don't have to spell out the rest of their lives for me, but I know it's going to be okay.

Showing your crew on some weird world, leaving in the middle of the battle apparently to enter a Mass Relay while you're giving your life... not giving any idea of how the galaxy moves on, destroying the Mass Relays... in the first game a character says without Mass Relays interstellar travel would not be possible. How can something that important to the galaxy be destroyed and it be good? The Mass Relays don't control society, they make it easier for travel across the galaxy... they help unite the galaxy. If the Relays are bad they don't do a good enough job saying why and what's better.

okay... I got off rambling again, but in my current area of pain and hopelessness it's hard not to. My point is, they don't give you any hope of how the universe moves on, what happens to the people you've known throughout these games. We care about this universe, a lot of us love this universe, and the characters... I could NOT choose renegade choices because all I want is the best for these characters.
