No. My point is not to inflame anything; my point is that generally, it's easier to sell to the xbox and PS3 markets, because the money is there for a quick fix on modern warfare, Battlfield or...Action orientated games. You need only look at the transition of mechanics between ME1 and ME3 to see that it had gradually become more action orientated to sell more; I feel that the story took a back seat. Now granted, Oblivion and Deus Ex have probably done well on the console, but I guarantee you that they've done nowhere near as well as Any CoD game.

Try to grasp this. I'm not insulting the user; I'm insulting the fact that console gaming has become something that's designed to appeal to baser desire, and shorter term gratification.

This has nothing to do with consoles or PCs. This is about writing. It wouldnt matter if mass effect was a choose-your-own-adventure book series, what matters is that the ending(s) were very poorly connected to the story/universe/game. It's like they were from a completely different game. It's okay to have that kind of crazy "philosophical" ending (minus the gaping plot holes) as long as it matches with the rest of the story. But the ending doesnt connect with the rest of the story, and Im sure we all know how.

I play PC when I want more of a solitude gaming experience, like with ME3, I did not want friends to bother me, I did not want to be interrupted with Xboxlive messages etc.. So Your assumptions of gaming platform vs. level of intellect needs some revision.

well done...You're an art history major, so I'll help you join the dots - the console is a child of social gaming, and so games with a social element such as battlefield, gears of war, halo et al are going to sell better...They're ready made, seat of your pants gaming that gives you the satisfaction of a frag. The PC is (or has been until recently) less so; RPG, MMO etc. have pretty much been the domain of the PC because of it's ability to convey storytelling with superior graphics and processing ability that just isn't available on a console system. Console systems are behind the curve and designed for a completely seperate environment and community.

Oh boy.. Seriously mate, it does not matter whether it's console or PC. They're a company and in order to increase sales make it multi-platform. I have been a PC gamer for years and yes I remember using DOS to get in my games and that horrible screeching modem. That's a big stretch to say intelligence vs console/pc is there...that's ludicrous..

I don't even know what I just read there.  The MMO is the definition of social gaming if there ever was one.  Clearly you're trolling, are the LoL servers down?  Go play with your mature gaming community.

Granted. But there is a direct correlation between what a PC and Console are capable of, and which games sell better on which platform. That might change in the future, but for now...I can see nothing but games that have had exceptional storylines being dumbed down to be more shooter centric to make a quick buck, and sacrificing any real substance in the process.

Oh, not this drivel again. Ohey, I was raised on arcades, does this make me better than you because I 'trained' on a platform that couldn't be modded?

Crap corporatism that thinks 'they know' what gamers want probably contributed more problems in modern day gaming than any number of killstreak happy teens on any platform could hope to accomplish.

I found LoL boring.

And to the point made about MMO's being social - granted, but it's a relatively new phenomena that's re-shaping the way PCs are perceived, from being merely productivity hardware to multimedia suites that have a visible social element.

Mass Effect was originally a console only title that was ported to the PC by Demiurge Studios.

The original console version of Mass Effect was no different than the PC version we play.

ME3 isn't a product of the console user bases expectations nor its hardware limitations. Neither was ME2.

Stop blaming those who play on consoles, they are no different than those who play on the pc. Thinking that they are in some way "inferior" is pure nonsense.
The only difference comes in the fact consoles will always be behind the pc in raw power. However fewer people have the money, knowledge or wish to purchase a pc with the same or better specs as say a ps3. In other words it's a question of hardware limitation, including using a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard, and not a question of the intelligence of those who own consoles or how smart companies think their console consumers are.
Is the ME series a console series? Yes, of course it is. So what?

ME1 had plenty of action, and far less substance.

The first game's ending was good, though. Too bad they couldn't hold it together these last 15 minutes.

Another PC elitist thread, talking about how they're superior to the console players...

I have owned all major consoles released from the 90's and on, and have some retro ones too. Also, I've a very competent PC, and always felt the need to upgraded it when I felt it was left behind. I'm proud it can run Witcher 2 almost on maximum settings. I own the Mass Effect trilogy on it, too. I also like reading, especially history, or those Dan Brown-esque books and stories.

But I don't feel superior to anyone. I'm also mostly gaming on my consoles, because of the simpler setup, and lack of upgrading, Origin-Steam-like clients etc. If you think console players are to blame in this situation, you simply are beyond naive. Your need to feel superior blinds you. I honestly cannot understand why PC elitists think they're superior gamers, when in fact most multi-platform games sell the least on PC, by a large amount even. Go to VGChartz and pick any multi-platform game. Also, the PC crowd is the one that pirates games the most. And you guys dare talk about how console players are to blame for gaming's "decline", and how you're the soul of gaming? Seriously, grow up. Console gaming is not "lazy". Not everyone has all the time in the world to live and die over their PC. Some people have families, jobs, or universities to attend to. Your post reeks of immaturity and elitism.

Or it more social as you can check achievements or the serious games, and play together on the more casual games. My boyfriend likes to get more achievements than his friends, that's pretty much the social reason he got it. 95% of his time he plays alone, 5% he plays with friends. I think this percentage is the same for most console users. While I'm more 99% vs 1%.

Just because the xbox is more social, doesn't mean people can't enjoy some downtime alone with the console so they can enjoy the game.

Ok ill will give you one thing, the Gameing market is tailored to the Console platforms... duh, because they make the most of the gaming industry.. oh and thank you for assuming that My intellegence is inferior to yours because of degree programs..  you are awesome.

ME started on Xbox, ME2 was crossed platformed to PS3 and then Coded for PC, ME3 was still ment to be Console focused... Just by that history alone your argument needs revisions.

True... RTS games do better on PC because of the Key board and mouse offer quicker reaction times and more imput controlls.  And yes I agree, I would like to play my RPGs on a PC but there I some RPGs that I love to play on Xbox.

I'm not understanding the whol pandering to a console or casual audience thing. Mass effect has way too much talking for that
