Its elitist jerks like you who give us gamers a bad name, and to say console gaming is the McDonalds of the electronic market? You sir have to work on your people skills and seriously get a life. If anyone is to blame it is still EA, when BioWare signed on with them they lost their souls!

read the thread, idiot.

Don't blame consoles, there are plenty of games on console that have complex stories.

Blame EA for catering the game to the dumb masses who happen to own consoles.

Furthermore, I think what it all boils down to is that they care more about the shooter fans than RPG fans. There are more shooter fans - the "young'uns" like the mindless shooting and not having to listen to a stupid story or make decisions that actually have an impact on what happens. The problem is that the shooter fans have a bazillion games to play already. RPG fans have very few (after this game, Bethesda is now my favorite company for games...if only they could make more NPC interaction and deeper stories with them). So BioWare left in choices (that make no difference) to shut all of the RPG fans up and went after the shooter fans like a horny dolphin in a pool full of females in heat.

This. Why exactly do you reiterate this and completely miss the point I've been making?

Your point was that console gaming ruined the ME series and that PC gamers are more intelligent than console gamers, and your point is bull****. I pointed out what the real problem is, and it's deeper than "Console gamers are dumb ****s who aren't capable of doing anything other than button mashing". The problem is that we have an entire generation of people who are incapable of using their imaginations and must have constant stimulation, a completely linear story with your character's choices having little to no impact on the game's plot/outcome, and lots of "explosions" to keep their attention. I try to imagine most of today's gamers (PC or console) today playing D&D as I played it - with pencil and paper - and find it amusing because they'd get bored after five minutes and wander off to go play GoW so they can blow **** up.

Those are the people BioWare chose to chase, and the hell with the RPG gamers because they see us as a bunch of desperate people who wil buy anything that is labeled "RPG" no matter how much it sucks (and ignore the fact that it's nothing but a shooter with some movie-like cutscenes in between the shooting). Instead of stating this, you wanted to approach it from the typical douche-baggy-PC-gaming-elitist perpspective and ignore the larger problem, which does nothing but draw attention from BioWare's culpability in the pile of crap we were just handed by pitting us against each other instead. By throwing accusations at the console gamers, blaming them for the dumbing down of the ME series and lumping them all in one category ("They're all stupid and it's their fault because they're all shooter fans and BioWare had to make the game dumb for them!"), you're essentially taking the blame off of BioWare and putting it on people who, quite obviously, don't like the ending either. You'd make a great politician.
