Ok firstly I have Windows 7 (64) and meet all of the requirements to run this game.
Mass Effect 3 simply will not launch, that is to say i see no evidence of it. The exe is there, ticking away in the background and for some odd reason cannot be ended. If it makes a difference, I have a hard copy.

I have tried, re-installing everything
I have tried starting the exe as admin ( to which origins informs me the game may not be installed correctly and i should re-install)
I have tried running the game from desktop.
I have tried "updating" the game and origins.
I have pretty much tried everything I can think of.
Has anybody got any ideas ?
I cant find anything related to ME3 in my antivirus software either, so it cant be that.

P.s Origins is poo, it crashes, wont exit and at times prevents me from shutting down forcing a hard reboot.
This whole thing sucks giant testicular. Posted Image

Mate, it's been just over an hour. do you honestly expect a million people to post 10 seconds after you do? This ain't Reddit. give it time. someone will help you out eventually.

Might be a conflict issue due to your origin being a bit hinkey, i had some issues due to some of the fixes out there i used to sort out language issues i had, and that caused my origin to get screwed to put it lightly, after a format and reinstallment of everything and not running any programs other then windows certified im not having any issues at all.

Try to run it as an administrator? I had this problem WHILE running as an administrator, you might get the opposite.

My friend is having the same problem. We've tried just about anything that was obvious and she's still unable to play.

Have tried running as admin, not luck, re-installed everything about 5 times now as well. Getting pretty tideous lol
I just for the life of me can't work out whats up with it. As i said, the exe runs, just plods away in the background and for some reason it wont close when I use task manager. If i run ME3, which creates said un-stoppable exe the origin exe also adopts the same attitude and seemingly stops me pc from shuting down normally, forcing a hard reboot. :S

Hmmmm, registry hack? Let me know how that turns out. Doesn't it make you sad that we have to resort to this?

Good luck!

I dont think the registry hack is needed, Origins knows the game is there, hell when the exe is ticking over in the background it says "playing mass effect 3"

I had this exact same problem and tried almost everything and it still wasn't working.
However, when I was looking through my computer for various save files I found another Mass Effect 3 launcher in my AppData\\Roaming folder so I replaced the one in the install location with the new one, started it up and it worked.
It appears to completely skip out Origin and just launch the game, maybe this will work for you?

The registry mod did not work for me, however whilst I was there... I found that the path line for Mass Effect 3 was corrupted. I erased the line and added a new one with the correct pathway to the ME3.exe and it now runs.

So, the things done to correct the dreaded Activation screen wheel crash/ program running fault (I alternated between the two) that seemed to have relevance.
Disabled Bullguard Heuristics (startup).
Punched holes in the firewall across all ports for ALL .exe programs from Origin and ME3.
Enabled ALL .exe as run as Admin
Used Revo uninstaller so I could use the disks again.
Re-installed ME3 and Origin (7th time lucky), with todays update for Origin which finally shows as pre-release rather than 8.5 Beta.
Regedit the path file to correct pathway.

Just an update, checked the pre-release box for origns, updated everything, ran mass effect, origin said games was not properly installed, to run a repair, did that.
Now when I click play, says launching, then literally nothing happens, no mass effect3.exe and origins still has me as online rather than in game :S
ps. also tried the update of the dll files again and running admin, no luck
