Was a Vanguard on Insane Run with Liara and Ashley.Did it with a ME2 Import

In fact my whole game I mostly use them lol.Just stick to cover and continuously biotic detonate them.Their not that hard oh and Geth Plasma Shotgun V with Incindinary Ammo rapes Brutes and Banshees

Biotic detonations fairly kills Banshees extremely fast while Ashley well just use particle rifle and Black Widows.

Oh and my bonus power eas energy drain. Its so OP I can keep restoring my barriers and taking out their shields/barriers fast and then just Liara warp or singularity or I just pull them then biotic charge or shockwave them into biotic detonation heaven.

Hi,

I just finished the game on normal difficulty, the final wave of the defending missle trucks, my word, I count at least three banshees and no-one knows how many marauders?

I barely managed to get through on normal difficulty. May I ask, what is your way of doing it with insanity?

i finish it on harcode without dying once on the defending missle trucks,i have 8 medigel at the end i only have 3,a very hard batlle

I did it as a Soldier with Liara and Javik. Liara can basically hold off the marauders on her own with Stasis, and Javik is a great tank who can disable any non-shielded enemy with Slam. Really, if a Soldier gets to this part of the game and aren't a master of kiting and hiding, especially with the six(!) simultaneous brutes you needed to take down to get here, I would like to know how you did it.

I ran Insanity on my first playthrough with my imported Soldier. I was running with only the Revenant and the Viper so I'd have a relatively short Adrenaline Rush cooldown. And my important build evolutions were:
Adrenaline Rush: 4a, 5a, 6a
Incendiary Ammo: 4a, 5a, 6a
Combat Master: 4b, 5a, 6b
Fitness: 4b, 5b, 6b

Garrus and Liara were my squadmates for the final mission. Overload, Proximity Mine, and Warp are great for taking down all defense types.

STRATEGY
I will admit this is one of the tougher parts of the game. But it is so satisfying to finally push through the onslaught they throw at you. I barely used Medigel at all my entire playthrough (DAT EXP!) but I was popping them like candy during Kai Leng and this fight.

Despite how tough I found Brutes when they first are introduced they are a complete joke towards the end of the game for a Revenant soldier. I was able to take them out in a little over one AR duration. It is hard to dodge them when they first come out since there are so many of them, so you need to get away from them and bottle neck them. Run down the street towards where the 2nd missile battery is and turn left when you get there. There is an L-shaped alley that you can run into. I made my way there killing a brute or two along the way, and made my last stand there, killing them as they jumped the barricade to enter the alley.

When the harvester came out I simply sniped him with my sniper rifle from the alley and wore him down with Warp and Proximity grenades from my squad.

Then the Banshees came...this wasn't pretty. It took a couple attempts but then I found something. Something that put a huge smile on my face. If you're starting in that L-shaped alley I mentioned, continue along it, turning left at the bend and cross the street (at this point you are now running back towards the original missle battery but you're crossing the side street). Once you cross the street, there will be a corner shop with the windows busted out. Inside is a HYDRA MISSILE LAUNCHER!!! I used that to severly injure two of the Banshees, and then finished them off with conventional means. That really took the pressure off. Then it's just a mad dash to the missile battery when it's up.

Liara and Ashley as a soldier, the banshees were a pain but everything else?

Javelin (Damage Mods) Adrenaline Rush (Along with anything I could scrape together for damage/hedshots) and I just leveled everything on the map.

Banshees seem to eat damage but with AR instant reloading my gun, I had less issues, I mean come on, two headshots within 2 seconds on an enemy? Slight overkill :D

I was pretty much going to give up on the missile trucks at insanity, when i noticed the reaper death beam also did friendly fire damage to the banshees. Hint hint.

Lure them towards the building with many Medi-Gel, when they say the missile is ready, book it over. I tried to hold the line but I think the enemies are infinite.

Sat there grinding them down with an Engineer Shepherd for 10 minutes after knowing the missiles are ready.

Played infiltrator. I used medi-gel whenever I could to revive my teammates whilst running away from the banshees and sniping the marauders that were in my escape path. Pretty much like everyone else, as soon as I heard the missiles were ready I cloaked and ran to the console to launch the missiles.

imported sentinel with liara and edi, against barrier overload works better than warp due to double damage from 6b, then it's just a matter of spamming singularity+throw to obliterate anything, at a rhythm of one explosion every second or so ( with singularity talented to explode and throw talended to increase explosion damage ), always kept a weapon loadout low enough to have the highest possible power speed, I hardly shoot anything for most of the campaign except the odd atlas/brute/banshee/harvester in between cooldowns.

Game was too easy from that point of view, even on insanity :(, but it may be due to being imported, I was level 60 way before the end and had the powers I cared about maxed out from the very start

My feeling is that me2 was far more difficult.

Again...importing makes a big difference.

Endgame ME3 with a fresh character is about level 35-40.

That's a huge drop in power compared to those of us who were importing and rocking mid to high level 50s...

Haha, the brutes :D Brutes are fun on a vanguard, they're like phantoms, designed for the sole purpose of making you feel good about your class choice.

I had the fairly non-optimal team of Ashley and a poorly built Garrus (Ash is not half the tank in this game she was in 1, even disregarding the loss of Immunity :crying:) and they both spent a lot of time on the ground. My strategy was actually not to kill the marauders - they put much less DPS across the field than cannibals, IME - but rather to clear out all the trash mobs as they came, run from the banshees like a crazy person, and use Pull and the marauder's natural tendency to flank to try to distribute them across the map at large distances from each other. Any time a banshee got too close, I just found a distant marauder and Charged to safety. He got knocked on his ass, I left him alive and ran for cover, the banshee would come after me, and I'd Charge again. I noticed the friendly fire on the Reaper beam too late to really take advantage, but I don't think I'd find it that useful anyway, I move around too much.

My opening strategy may change now that I know there's a heavy weapon, though.

Move a lot. Find tactically good positions, spam ur powers to counter your enemies, aim in the head, never hesitate.

Yep.

Beat on Insanity on first run.

It was easier then ME2 Insanity, but that's do to ME3 forcing me to pay attention on battlefield all the time, while in ME2 I relaxed a lot and get killed for being careless.
Also, far less cheap enemies.

Though Banshee is the cheapest f*cking enemy! I HATE HER!

Oh yeah, She's a nasty bit©h. Tough too. I waste 9 bullets in adrenaline rush just to take down her armor with black widow and headshots :o

I had Garrus and Liara in my squad as a soldier, use stasis on cannibals, overload on marauders, finish them with the widow. Brutes can be killed easily behind the tanks, the banshees are just painful, kill them or hold them off until the missile is ready and then run.

I did my first playthrough with my imported Vanguard on Insanity. Honestly, I dunno how I would have got through that final fight without Charge restoring barriers. I was burning through Medigel. Who thought throwing 6 Brutes, a Harvester, 2 Banshees and then an infinite spawn of Banshees and Marauder squads at you was fun? I was running with Garrus and Javik, because I thought taking him to take out the Reapers was appropriate. Ran with Garrus and Liara for most of the game, and should have stuck with it really.

Still, the fight was adrenaline-pumping. I kinda liked it in place of a 'final boss'. Also Harbinger totes redeemed himself by saying *no lines the whole game* and then just turning up to frag you at the end.

The enemies scale and our weapons won't go past rank 5 our first playthrough when we are near max level, so it does even out a little. We have more play with powers but you can get away without having them.

On insanity with my vanguard I was using with Kaidan/Liara + Javik. Would start with a warp or reave on the banshee then once it got close a nova with 100% extra damage to armor/barriers/shields. Straight after have Javik throw dark channel on the banshee following up with my own reave causing another explosion. It is now down to about 60-70% armor with no barrier.
Against a brute this would actually decimate and kill them in about 2-3 seconds flat. The hardest part at the end was the harvester imo, if it has a clean shot at you, you would be dead before you generally had time to react.

was not too difficult, adept using biotic explosions. it was one of the areas that was challenging, but not overwhelming. like a lot of the others i will killing things for a while and only realized i had to go click the thingy to end after destroying a half dozen banshees.

biotics are god mode.

I did it with an adept on insanity. Javiks dark channel eats through barriers quickly and you can hit them with throw then for massive biotic explosions.

Also, just line them up for the reaper laser that is also firing on you to take them out.

Yep... Just move alot.. It's pretty easy. I recommend playing any game on the hardest difficulty at first so this way you are used to it by the hard parts of the game..

I couldn't beat the Banshees on Hardcore so I switched it to casual, lol.

I can't even imagine how hard Insanity must've been.

Played as soldier.

Kai Leng and "Survive till the missiles are ready" during the final mission the hardest points on insanity. I roll with Liara and Garrus, imported Soldier rockin a sexy lookin Ravenant and the Spectre Black Widow rifle, rockin Incendiary ammo and switching only to disruptor if I run into a banshee to take off the barriers fast. Mod your weapons for armor pen. Makes a huge diff against brutes.. not so much against them banshees since they have got a million hp. zz

Liara's Stasis is absolutely invaluable during both fights. Giving you CC time to run or to just line up the perfect headshot with ease on the Phantoms during the Kai Leng fight and the marauders during the Missile fight.

FYI: Andranaline Rush(AR) refreshes your clip, so on your 3rd Snipe, immediately AR and snipe off another 3 poor indoctranated souls cause you enter Matrix mode when AR slowmo + Snipe slowmo kicks into effect. Gives a nice HELL YEAH moment everytime I did it.

If anyone notices, the reaper's beam will kill the Banshees and anything else if you lure them vertically from the reaper. Not that this helps because they will keep respawning, but it will give you a breather to snipe off 2-3 Marauders.

Simply rinse and repeat till EDI decides that she has put you through enough suffering and tells you the set off the missiles( I know EDI wants to see me in action. No way her quantum computing skills takes her that long to sync up 2 bloody missiles to a reaper at point blank range!!1!1one1one)

you know what i had no trouble getting past the defend the truck part i cant kill the ''last'' marauder with the carnifax after the suicide run to the beam. that for me is the hardest part of the insanity run. that and the freaking kai leng fight but thats cuz i hate the guy.
