I just came on the boards today and holy crap I am now scared to finish my game. Almost every thread I see is about how much people hated the ending. I haven't seen a single person defending it at all. I've also noticed for myself in the game but have had my fears confirmed on here, it seems like none of my choices in the previous 2 games have really mattered at all and from what I've been reading on here it seems like in the end they won't matter either.

Bioware I'll post on the review thread when I finish the game, but there is a serious problem with a game when I can come on here and not have any reassurances in that I'll  want to finish this game. :(

Just finish it. The ending isn't even inherently bad - it's just not Mass Effect. At all.

There are folks that like the ending like myself, you just need to find the right threads. Honestly, finish the game & find out for yourself. I originaly read the ending & thought I would hate it until I actually finished the game & realized I liked it.

IMHO, to each their own!

The game have multiple endings. The people who complain has just gotten a bad one :P
Play some multiplayer, and you`ll get a better ending, but you don`t have too.
That the multiplayer can affect how the single ends is unique imo, I don`t mind that.

It is not possible to describe with words how you will feel....you'll just have to experience it for yourself.

Wrong, on so many levels.  You don't have to play a single minute of multiplayer to get all three endings, so please stop spreading disinformation.  And if you bothered to read any of the complaints, they don't like ANY of the three endings.

Nope. One ending, three colors, and an extra five second scene if you do everything right.

That being said, it's worth it to finish the game and decide for yourself. I didn't want to at first, and I'm glad I did, even if the endings weren't what I wanted.

Multiple endings you say?

100% Galaxy at War/6300 Assets reporting in.

It all ends the same.

Honestly, if you don't listen to the people on the boards... you will likely find the endings to be just fine.
I completed the game before reading any of these threads, and didn't mind the ending much at all. Probably could have been a bit more detailed, with a few more scenes of what happened, but overall, its not nearly as bad as people here are complaining about.

Finish it. Some people have liked it. But if you don't (and I suspect you won't), come back and support the fight for better endings.

Finish it, this game is incredible. Up until the last ten minutes.
Then if you're crushed, we'll be here to help.
No, seriously, finish it.

The ending would have been fine if we got other endings, they didn't need to be perfect but at least better than the rubbish Bioware pulled on us.

Honestly, you should finish the game. That way you can judge the ending for yourself. If you like it, more power to you. If you hate it, do something about it. Vote with your wallet.

Don't finish the game. Don't even watch the videos. Stop at the return to Earth.

You will have pleasant memories of the game that way.

I'm with you on this. I am still on my first play through. I am almost tempted to start a new game from ME1 to postpone reaching the end of ME3 and learn for myself what it is about :D

You are completely right Thomas. You can choose to have a red, green, or blue (i think thats 3rd color) filer added to the ending. That is how you make choices matter!

That's how real lies sound. This game has one single ending and it's horrible for Mass Effect.

Did you play ME1 / ME2?

Did you talk to your team after every mission? At various hot points throughout the games? Did you romance a team member or two?

Maybe you are just apathetic to the conclusion, but I definitely want to know what the hell happened to my team, what happend to my LI, and why the Normandy was running away from the fight. If ME3 is the end of Shepard's story, so be it, but I didn't spend 100+ hours making my choices, getting to know / loving the characters that made my team, to have some ****ty "Star-kid" ending without closure. Epilogues are almost required for long stories... see: LoTR, The Matrix, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. Those are some of the most popular long-term stories presented.. and every single one of them has an epilogue. What happens if they didn't? How many people would get ridiculously pissed off if Star Wars ended after Vader threw Palpatine over the rail? Did the Death Star blow up? Who knows! Same thing now, did the Reapers die? Who knows! Not us, because there's too many plot holes and inconsistencies to believe that the ending that took place wasn't anything more than a dream or hallucination of a dying brain.

Your fears are well-founded.

It will be worse than you can possibly imagine. Hugs here when you are done.
