So what really bothers me in all this ending crap is that Bioware based their advertaising campaign with the mote:
"Take Earth back" and, well, we don't take Earth back in the end... I mean, we certainly have a chance to blow the reapers and all, but what we accomplish is a broken world crowded by every species in the galaxy, Krogans included, what makes me agree with the salarians.... cure the genophage was a mistake. They will reproduce really fast (if there is a few females with then) and take Earth in a few years! And, more, I don't think the other species will be happy with humanity, since was Sheppard's mistake that made then be caged in Earth... So that's the first point.

The second is that they actually said that our choices from the first game to the last would make a huge difference in the endings, wich is just not true.

So, they just didn't give us what they said they would, wich make their propaganda just false. I'm pretty sure we can sue then for that. Lol.

Mass Effect is a mix of a lot of well know sci-fi histories, like BSG, Matrix (yeah, the talk with the Catalyst made me remember Neo talking with the Architect), the book Contact, by Carl Sagan (this one, believe me, is really close to Mass Effect, even the Citadel, Council and the Mass Relays ideas apper in the book, so the ones who actually enjoy the game should read it) and even the high fantasy setting for D&D, Planescape (with Sigil being really close to the citadel, with it own keepers and all). What I'm saying is that nothing in Mass Effect is original, but, still, they made a great work by taking all this pieces together into a great storyline.

I can't stop to think that this end, the way it is, make the developers just look lazy, you know? Because, come on, for a game that is so interested in show us every single aspect of the Normady crew relationship, with short cutscenes showing us a lot of great scenes, the end just seens lazy! 3 closed choices that in the end just make a diference in the colors of the final BOOM is... compelling. That and the bad writting...

Sorry for the bad english, it comes from a fellow gamer from Brazil that is just as sad as you guys are! Let's take Mass Effect back! With no false propaganda, this time!

The marketing was a lie, indeed. I believe everyone expected a conclusion with an Earth that is being rebuilt, or at least one on which you see the human population whom have been hiding all along slowly climb out into the light. I at least expected something along those lines, not what I got.
